This had been a no brainer of a choice and not disappointing, despite the building works! As a sand grown 'un, I've been paying my respects to family no longer with us and laid to rest at Bispham Parish Church for over 20 years. Normally I visit on high days and anniversaries and do the return trip from Hertfordshire in the one day, but a recent health scare caused me to decide to break my journey and stay overnight. Welcomed by an apologetic Receptionist who could not have been more helpful, we found our room easily up two flights of wide stairs and were immediately impressed by its warmth and cleanliness. We'd booked a twin and the only disappointment was the absence of armchairs, which may have been down to the extra bed, but we quickly put that right by finding a couple from the corridor outside (at the time we were on our way to Reception to complain). After an excellent night's sleep and a good breakfast at the adjoining Beefeater in the old Red Lion, we were refreshed and ready to go. Just one final disappointment: the online marketing material had highlighted an ''all you can eat, come back for more'' itemised hot breakfast for £8.99, which we pre-booked. This was also promoted in the room's restaurant guide, but the expected buffet style service was conspicuous by its absence despite there being a large area seemingly reserved for it. Come on Premier - deliver on your promise or don't promise in the first place!
