My 3 kids, wife and I stopped at the Alumhurst during the Jubilee Weekend. This was not the first time we had stopped here and it will not be the last.
We was warmly welcomed by Pat and Steve, who are very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The breakfasts are excellent and the staff that take the orders are brilliant, even when the kids kept changing their minds on what to have (as kids do). The hotel is also situated very close to the Blackpool Tower (kids loved to look out of the hotel window at night to see it lit up), and to the promenade where all the attractions are. I would, and have, recommend this hotel to others.

Absolutely excellent hotel, only a few minutes from the seafront and central Blackpool and the Winter Garden Leisure complex, our conference venue.
The staff very very attentive lending that personal touch to everything they done. Food and restaurant service can only be described as "first class" they even re-arranged meal times to fit in with our conference agenda, very thoughtful indeed.
Parking a bit tight but can be pre-arranged when booking accomodation subject to availability.
Bar usually stays open late so as you can have that "essential end of day" nightcap!
If I have occasion to go to Blackpool again, it's the Alumhurst for me and I would certainly recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: If you book a room with a double bed, the area around the bed is a bit tight for walking around if bed is positioned centrally. Ask them to move it up against one wall or the other to provide more walking space. All rooms however may not be of the same layout configuration.

We arrived in Blackpool after not being able to travel further south due to a crash on the Motorway. Not having booked anywhere, we just rolled up to the first central place we came to which was off the main road and had a car park. We were warmly welcomed by Steve and moved into our room. It was probably due for a makeover but was totally functional and clean. Our shower was the best we had had up until that stage of our tour. The location was good with easy access to the beach and shopping centre. The new Blackpool upgrades are worth looking at and there semmed to be lots of options in the town for entertainment. Our breakfast was very filling and Pat the owner who has been there for 40 years, entertained us with her interesting stories as we knew very little about that area until we met her. There is heaps of accommodation in Blackpool, but this one is a winner.

Arriving in Blackpool for a weekend conference I found the hotel I'd originally booked was totally unsuitable - then I discovered the Alumhurst. It was like finding a precious jewel, or an oasis in the desert! The Alumhurst is a gem of a hotel and an ideal place to stay in Blackpool as it is only minutes from the seafront, the Tower and the Winter Gardens. The Alumhurst is bright, well furnished and spotlessly clean. The rooms are spacious, comfortably furnished and very well equipped with everything a traveller would need - en suite, teamaking facilities, flat screen tv, etc.
There is a nice lounge with large Tv and a nice little bar in the basement. The catering at the Alumhurst is first class; a good hearty breakfast in the morning and a delicious dinner in the evening - all at a very reasonable price. However, what makes the Alumhurst really special is the warm and friendly welcome which guests receive from proprieters, Steve and Pat, and their staff.
Steve and Pat exhibit northern hospitality at its best and Tammy the waitress is just lovely.
I shall certainly return to the Alumhurst whenever I have reason to be in Blackpool and I have no hesitation in reccommending it to ther travellers.
