We stayed here for one night (Monday 8th May). The room was lovely and had everything you could possibly need; both room and bathroom were very clean. The night before I asked if it was possible to make lunch for the next day, Richard was very helpful and when we checked out our lunch was presented to us. Breakfast was gorgeous with lots to choose from. The hotel is tucked down a side road (they have their own car park) so you don't hear any traffic. The hotel is close enough to walk into town. It was great to book on line as you knew exactly which room you have booked and what you can expect all at a brilliant price. Thank you for a great stay, wish we could have stayed longer.

After a 6 hour drive from the Highlands on route to the Isle of Wight ‘The Hideaway’ was the perfect location to unwind and be pampered. The owners Richard and Lisa were very attentive to our wishes including my wife’s gluten free requirements - nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant needs booking as it is in high demand! A short pleasant walk to the lake with a boat trip around the Lake sealed our overnight experience of this lovely town. Well done we will be back!

My fiancé and I visited the hideaway fri 11th may after I was keen to go after reading reviews on here. Welcome was lovely, met at the door by a member of staff and taken to lounge room for pre dinner drinks, and was pleased with the extensive choice. It felt very intimate, relaxed on the sofa, chose from a lovely menu before being taken through to dining room which was a beautifully decorated room. I was then presented my 'first course' which happened to be a little box on a bed of roses, and brought a bottle of champagne in a ice bucket. My partner then proposed :-) and it couldn't have been done without the help from the lovely Lisa :-). The food was outstanding, and presented very well. We were given a complimentary light pudding as we were quite full. We were taken back to the lounge where we finished our drinks. Overall this establishment is an absolute must for those that like to fine dine. Thank you for making our evening even more special.

Lovely quiet B&B. Very friendly, helpful staff. I have a gluten allergy - they bent over backwards to accommodate me. Afternoon tea & cake 2-5pm was a real treat - they brought me a dessert from the restaurant. Spotless clean. We had the mini double. The room is small but not tiny - plenty of room and evrything we needed. We had to leave at 6.15am, they brought a lovely breakfast tray for us the night before, milk, juice, yogurt on ice with croissants and jams, cereal. We would like to say "thank you". We will return

My wife and I stayed in May 2012. We had contacted Richard and Lisa earlier to let them know
of the special requirements for my wife, due to a serious back injury some years ago. She was treated with consideration, thought and kindness throughout our stay, but certainly not patronised. All the little things that make a stay so enjoyable were provided almost without asking, so a great pat on the back to the Hideaway, its owners and staff. We would certainly
recommend them to visitors to the Lake District.
