Stayed at Ellergill over the Bank Holiday weekend. The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfasts were very tasty and Robin and Clare were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this B&B to others and would stay here again if I ever return to Keswick.

Stayed here for a weekend in August. As we we were only staying for 2 nights we decided to stay in the biggest and most expensive room (Room 4). I would definitely recommed this if you can afford it, especially as it also gives you the window table for breakfast. Robin and Clare were very friendly and kindly rang me to say we had left a purse in the room and posted this to us very promptly. The breakafasts were excellent (you are asked to choose the evening before but this was fine by us). There is parking for 4 cars in a designated area behind but very near to the Ellergill, which is itself very well located very close to the centre of Keswick.

Will definitely stay here again if and when we stay in Keswick as this is a very well run but friendly place to stay in an excellent location..

Room Tip: Ask for room 4 if it's available and affordable.

We stayed at Ellergill for 5 nights due to recommendation by The Lonely Planet guide. Claire and Robin made us feel most welcome, were very friendly and available to discuss walks and places we might enjoy seeing. We have never stayed in a B&B before and really did not know what to expect. We were not dissapointed when we saw the lovely room at the top the house with great views of the fells .The room was serviced daily, furnished with good quality furntiure and tastefully decorated. The en suite was spotlessly clean with clean towels supplied each day. Breakfasts were varied and exactlly how we like them, non greasy and tasty! Keswick has great appeal with the lovely old pubs and Derwant lake within a 10 minute walk. Ellergill itself was in a very quiet road and within walking distance to the centre of Keswick. This was a huge bonus as we could pop out for the evening, eating in a different place every night and found The George to be the best for pub grub. We had a lovely time and look forward to returning next year. If we go B&B again we would not hesitate to stay at Ellergill.

Me and my wife come to Keswick a lot; whether it to see the family or for a general holiday, often indulging in mountain climbing; which the area around Keswick can provide marvellously for, coupled with spectacular scenery. Every time we stay in Keswick we arrange our holiday accommodation with Ellergill and we love the B&B and the people who own it. We always get a friendly welcome, followed with a quick catch up of how we are doing. We have been back about 5 times now, and every time we love it even more.

The owners are very relaxed and are always at hand to give any local advice or help, this in combination with excellent service provides for an enjoyable, relaxing stay.
From the first time we stayed, we thought our rooms were spotless and presented to a high standard, just like their web page photos had indicated. Ever since then we have not been let down and we feel that the standard of accommodation provided is homely and spacious; We have stayed in most of the rooms now, enjoying our stay in everyone.

The breakfast is of a good wholesome standard with several options to choose between, all done by filling in a form the day before or day of arrival.

Parking is limited on the street, but as this is on a street full of B&B's you can imagine it gets busy, especially with it being right in the middle of Keswick. (handy for those night strolls into town). However in spite of its situation within the town it is surprisingly quiet and subsequently adds to the overall enjoyment of the stay. It’s a lovely town and is very popular so a bit of understanding goes a long way.

All in all, I would thoroughly recommend this B&B if you wanted to stay in Keswick.
I’m sure we will be booking another stay soon.
