“Peace and comfort !”
Reviewed 23 August 2018 for a stay in February 2018

We were snowed in for a couple of days but this added to the fun of staying at Barnhaven, especially as we were able to walk ( gingerly) up to the Wheatsheaf and enjoy more of its excellent food by a roaring log fire ! The house is tastefully furnished and it's lovely to look out on the garden and fields beyond. A downstairs cloakroom would be a wonderful addition to a delightful home-from-home.........but this is an elderly guest writing the review !!

Barnhaven is a beautiful cottage in a lovely location. Wish we could have stayed longer. The local pub serves excellent but we did have to book. Hope to return soon

“Lovely cottage in a good location.”

We stayed at Barnhaven in the summer and had a great time. The cottage is lovely and homely and has everything you need. We have stayed at cottages before and there are always one or two things missing but at Barnhaven they really have supplied everything.
The rooms were bigger than they look in the photos and there was plenty of space. The beds comfy and nice bed linen and towels etc.
The location is rural and lovely and quiet but within easy reach of Kendal for shops etc. There are some great walks from the village so we enjoyed a couple of days without getting in the car. Sizergh Castle and Lower Sizergh Barn are both nearby and worth a visit and a nice walk to get there.
It is about a 20 minute drive to Windemere and the surrounding area where there is lots to do.
We had really good communication with the owners. They were in touch several times during the stay to make sure everything was ok, which was thoughtful. They were really accommodating and helpful when we left something behind.
A great place to stay and we would not hesitate to return.

“Lovely property!”
Reviewed 20 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

Me and my family of 5 have just returned from a great week long stay at Barnhaven. The accomodation is very spacious and was really a home from home. We loved the stone fireplace and large garden. Plenty of information on the lake district area was available for us at Barnhaven and the property itself was located within a short distance from Windermere. We really enjoyed our stay here and would certainly recommend it.

5 of us had a great stay at Barnhaven. I've booked loads of holiday homes over the years and Liane is definitely one of the best hosts I've had the pleasure of dealing with. The house is amazing and fully loaded so you don't need to worry about a thing. The nearby pub is top notch and a short walk, so it's perfect to unwind and not really worry about getting around. Couldn't have asked for any more. Thank you!
