“SUPERB LUXURY, WITH SPECIAL ATTENTION TO DETAIL!”

Just had such a ball with family and friends celebrating my mums 81st birthday here - and what a stylish way to do it! We were not disappointed with the facilities here. Our family found it easy to take advantage of the extensive kitchen facilities, however it was still easy to retreat to a homely, comfortable bedroom whenever we felt the need. Details about the history and development of this gorgeous building were interesting to learn as this was cleverly displayed in its hallways and rooms - what a great finishing touch! The building is set in such a beautiful location and it houses stunning facilities which only helped to make our weekend extra special!!

“Loved our stay in this 5***** Castle!”

Blencowe Hall is an absolutely amazing and unique place to stay. The castle is stunning and is beautifully furnished with antiques in every room. What is great is that you also have all the 21st century comforts you could wish for: super comfortable mattresses and bedding, amazing showers, 2 dishwashers in the kitchen, Wi-Fi. The gardens are beautiful and the views stunning.

We stayed here with a large groups of friends with a lot of kids amongst us, from age 2 till 16 and it was great for everyone. Our highlight was the dinner cooked by Jilly in the beautiful dining room in one of the towers. The older kids loved the billiards room (surprise surprise). The highlight for the younger ones was playing knights in the courtyard with the foam swords we brought along.

From Blencowe Hall, we hiked around beautiful lake Ullswater and visited Hadrian’s Wall. We took the younger kids to the outdoor pool in Greystoke, which they loved. The teenagers enjoyed paintballing and quad biking nearby.

We had an absolutely lovely time and hope to be back soon!

“The best one could buy”

This is the third time we have stayed at Blencow, the first time at The Castle - which is just spectacular and perfect in every way, and on the other two occasions in the adjoining cottages. This time we stayed at Wythburn Cottage.

If you want peace and quiet, a spectacular location and a 'dream' cottage, this is it. The renovation is top drawer and the condition of the cottage is perfect. Spotless and well furnished and equipped, quality bedding and towels, great service from Jilly ( the manager) and her cleaning and maintenance crew, it is a perfect location for the most relaxing week imaginable.

We have just had a lovely week there. Loads of walking, biking, eating(!) and chilling. The thing that made it so good - Wythburn Cottage. It is as good a location as we have stayed in. Well done to the Rowleys for their vision and attention to detail in such a successful renovation.

And next door - the castle. Just look at the outside of it and you will be captured. The inside - even better!
