I have been a regular visitor to the gallery since I was a child & it is lovely to see all the old favourites in their new improved surroundings. Enjoyed the opening exhibition & went to see the Turner prize last week & although overall not blown away (as expected) the collection of monochrome photographs was interesting. I will be continuing my visits (hopefully) for many more years. The fact that entrance is free is great but you can leave a voluntary donation

London should take lessons in spades in how to host the Turner Prize
Everything was brilliantly concierged and totally unpretentious

Stumbled upon this art gallery on our visit, not sure how we missed it the other visits! If you enjoy paintings go have a look in this gallery/ museum. There is a picture of a family of lions that is from I believe the 1800's, and it is huge, and really neat to see! Go for it, you won't be sorry

We went just to see the Turner Prize exhibition, which is well worth the visit. We both really enjoyed the variety of the work.
We stayed for lunch too, the cafe has plenty of seating and is very reasonably priced (and the chips are brilliant!!!)

With all the rennovations, a little more attention to the eating facilities would have been welcomed. Where once a spacious, clean environment provided a refuge with good food, a now crowded, noisy (from shop) facility has put this diner off completely. Not everyone wants to eat on the terrace in the Autumn. Also, sadly, the quality and 'quantity of the food had been reduced!!
