The staff were very helpful and polite. Food was ok but standard pub food. We had a discounted room but thought that the top prices normally quoted were to high. The bar area was a bit jaded although comfortable. The major complaint was that a group of young lads came into the bar and their language was very bad which the bar staff never dealt with. Not what you would expect from this type of hotel.

Booked for my boyfriend and I a few weeks in advance, at last minute took son with us so phoned the night before arrival and they quite happily changed our room straight away! We were given a little apartment joined onto hotel and it was just beautiful! 2 separate rooms, living room/kitchen, massive bath with separate shower! Just excellent. The grounds are lovely, walking distance into Canterbury. Restaurant was great aswell ate there 4 times continental breakfast and English breakfast! Service great staff lovely! Absolutley loved it here! 5 outa 5!

We weren't expecting great things after reading some of the reviews on here but were very suprised to find a lovely centrally located, spotless family friendly hotel.
We stayed in the four poster executive room which was ideal with a young baby who still wakes in the night as it was very secluded with no neighbours on any side it is also a large room with plenty of storage, hair dryer, tea making facilities, flat screen TV air con & jacuzzi bath.
A cot with sheets was provided free of charge for our little girl & set up ready & waiting for when we arrived there.
Staff were attentive & polite & very accommodating.
We did not try the food in the hotel so can't comment on it.
The only very minor niggles were the jacuzzi doesn't work (still a lovely deep bath tub though!) the room is above the kitchens so does get fairly warm & has a faint smell of roast dinners however this wasnt unpleasant & just made us a bit hungry! The room has a very effective airconditioning unit which keeps it lovely & cool if you don't like the warmth or food smells it banishes those too.
The mattress bows in the middle on the bed but it is still comfortable & lovely fresh bedding.
There is no lift to the exec room either but as I said only a minor problem as only a few stairs.
All these minor things were negligible as we had a wonderful time & slept very well in this quiet hotel I have read complaints on here about slamming kitchen doors from 7am underneath the exec room but we didn't hear this once.
Lovely 10-15 min walk through the park right into Canterbury centre ideal location we will definately return.

The staff at Victoria Hotel were very friendly and welcoming. Four of us stayed in a family room and it was extremely spacious and good value. The restaurant is good and we all enjoyed the carvery. If arriving by car though the hotel is quite confusing get to because of the roundabout in front of it. The beds weren't overly comfortable but weren't terrible either, my mum did have to put some pillows under her back to counteract the sag it had. You can pay an extra £5 for breakfast. Overall though I would stay again as it is only a short walk into town and is very fairly priced.

The pics on the web are a little miss leading....The hotel is on a main road/round about just before the centre of town. It is more of a pub steak house than hotel...That said i stayed one night and to be honest it done what i thought it would, at £45 a night for double room (very clean n nice) including breakfast it was good value....
