“So much more than it looks. Perfect in every way”

We spent 4 days here over a long weekend and can honestly say that this cottage exceeded expectations in every area.
Having stayed in many cottages over the years we have become used to compromise in some area or another - small tv, bad cooker, cramped rooms, uncomfortable beds, there is always something. There was everything here that we could have wanted.
The only thing that lets this cottage down is the pictures on the website. We nearly did not book aas it looked a little small and possibly a touch jaded. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Beautifully warm on arrival. Very helpful pub staff. "Rangemaster" cooker with 6 gas rings, 2 ovens and a grill. Every conceivable pan, pot, utensil, bowl that you could possibly waish for. Large, flat-screen TV with SKY. Conservatory with 6 seater dining table (this in addition to the one in the kitchen). 2 very comfortable double bedrooms. beautiful coal fire. Lovely small garden with covered bench area. A well stocked fishing river (4-5lb pike, bream, etc). Very dog-friendly walks along the riverbank. Amazing power shower and jacuzzi bath. 3 separate WC. Simple, speedy Wi-Fi. Good CD stereo in the kitchen. Fridge and freezer. Endless condiments, tins, spices, liqueurs of all descriptions (all based on a use and replace system).
Be aware that the stairs up to the bedrooms are steep. They are well carpeted and a good handrail is provided but the infirm might struggle.
In short, this cottage delivers above and beyond in all areas. very highly recommended.

Beautiful cottage with great facilities in a gorgeous location.
Effective heating and very comfy bed. Lovely and quiet.
Ate at Dog & Duck pub both nights which is next door and
very friendly with large portions of good pub food, and very
reasonably priced.
Would love to stay here again.

Excellent location and the facilities offered were second to none.
"Olde Worlde" charm with all the Modcons for a more familiar feel.
This is an optimum base for exploring the Thanet area.
The owners were more than helpful with regard to the local area and in the guide to the cottage there is useful information about shopping and bus timetables.
This is a place to unwind and just rest, away from the jet-stream of modern life.
We will be returning here without a doubt, it is a hidden gem and fully recommended.

“Perfect..A Magical Cottage”

We were a bit nervous booking this cottage as there were no reviews on tripadvisor but I can tell you no need to worry. This ia a lovely cottage which is in an idealic setting the river is at the front of the house and a lovely garden to the rear.We arrived a little late and the keys were in the pub across the road and a lovely bottle f Cava and choclates in the fridge along a selecton of groceries which was so thoughful. The bedrooms are a good size and a loo upstairs along with sky TV which was handy as it rained on our first day.It is a great base for the area we went to Whitstable and Sandwich which all make a lovely day/afternoon out and there are several pubs in the area for a lazy lunch.
We only went to the Dog and Duck pub one evening but were made really welcome and all in all we had a fabulous time and we will certainly be returning to this cottage. The owner was so helpful and a complete guide to the cottage was in the kitchen on arrival I can't find anything negative to say about this special place just try it you'll be totally recharged in days.
