We had afternoon tea using a voucher that was bought for us as a gift.
First of all we were left waiting to be seated for almost 15 minutes - in the end we just went and sat down ourselves.
If we had not had the voucher we would not have waited.
The only two tables available were set but they were dirty!
We cleaned the table ourselves and were then given a menu.
We handed our voucher over and was asked what tea we would like.
Within 10 minutes our order was brought out - the teapots were dirty and my cup was chipped.
The stand was brought out with our food on. There was 3 finger sandwiches each, all with odd tasting fillings - one was cucumber and a mint yoghurt.
The scones although warm were tiny and overcooked! The cakes offered were very rich and sickly.
Overall I do not feel the afternoon tea was worth the price and as a result of this and the f at everything was dirty and we were left waiting, I would not return nor would I recommend afternoon tea here.

This restaurant is a health HAZARD. DINE IN REVIEW. WATCH BEFORE YOU EAT!

Ate here (sort of) on the visit to Canterbury.
Ordered Vegetarian breakfast, Halloumi & Chili jam flat bread and orange juice.
Ordered at 1:37 PM on a Saturday. Food did not arrive until 2:20 PM and that too I had to go and ask for it. They just forgot about it.

Service is horrible and super slow. No cleanliness whatsoever. We choose to sit outside because of 🌞 and our table was no wiped for 20 mins. I had to go inside and ask for it. Even then, the staff came and sort of wiped it.

Now, hear the food review.
1) Orange juice did not taste freshly squeezed even though I was told it would be freshly squeezed.
2) Halloumi and chili jam bread: This was below average. It came with fries which were dry and seemed like they were made hour ago
3) Vegetarian breakfast: THIS WAS HORRIBLE.
Single poached egg which was tasteless. I just can't begin to tell you about the portion of beans. It was like 2 tablespoons.
1 PIECE MUSHROOM WITH A SMALL SHARP PIECE OF PLASTIC. MY WIFE COULD HAVE CHOKED ON IT OF SHE SWALLOWED IT. LUCKILY SHE CAUGHT IT AND IT WAS RAZOR SHARP.

I WENT INSIDE AND RETURNED THE LEFT OVER. THE STAFF SORT OF WAS SORRY BUT WAS SUPER CASUAL ABOUT IT.
I ASKED TO CANCEL THE ITEM AS I ALREADY PAID FOR IT. THEY TOOK ANOTHER 10 MINS TO FIND THE ORDER AND REFUND THE AMOUNT.

The service experience has been horrible at this restaurant and not just this branch. The staff had some sort of attitude and I experienced horrible service at their Eastbourne location. Even around that time there was only 1 staff member on a Sunday but he had major attitude in serving or cleaning the table.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND OR VISIT EVER AGAIN.

Shockingly slow service. We got our cakes but after 30minutes we are still waiting for cups of tea!! It’s just arrived but apparently they’ve got no saucers.

I visited this establishment with a friends for a cold drink and cake before heading to the local theatre.
We had chosen to sit outside in the sunshine.
I entered the patisserie to order, to be told " I can't deal with this order, I will get my colleague.
The young man arrives, took my order, which he could have easily given me the items while I stood there infront of him, but was told he would bring the order to us.
We waited and waited, getting rather agitated due to a theatre booking.
I re-enter the building to ask where my order was, only to be very rudely spoken to by the young girl who didn't take my order and who had passed it into the young man.
I was not the only person complaining as a lady behind me had also complained as she had been waiting 50 minutes for a baguette.
We did eventually receive our order but had to rush it.
I am totally disgusted with the service and especially the attitude of the young lady.
I will not be returning

This is my regular local coffee shop that I visit daily. Always a welcome smile and excellent staff. The coffee is the best for me and believe me I tried them all. The cakes here looks amazing and very tempting, one cannot resist. Reminds me of the beautiful patisseries in France. Well done to all the hard working staff giving you all a 5 STAR.
