A very useful leaflet from "Visit Herefordshire" provides a guided tour around the villages and useful notes about various features. Its easy to follow and helps ensure that you don't miss anything worthwhile. Allow plenty of time - it is easy to spend a day following the trail and well worth it.

This trail starts in Leominster, Herefordshire's largest market town. As well as the many attractive villages - our favourites were Weobley and Pembridge - there are suggested short side trips to places of interest. However, don't bother with Dunkertons Cider. Production has been moved to Cheltenham and ringing the shop doorbell as instructed provoked no response.
Plenty of opportunities for refreshment along the way.

Came upon this entirely by chance through an email from Colwall Park hotel suggesting places to go. 40 mile driving trail round beautiful villages that have medieval, black and white, timber framed houses. Pick up leaflet from Leominster tourist information but also available online. Highlights include Weobley, the great oak near Eardisley - a 900 year old oak tree, and Kington - the area near the church said to be haunted by a black dog and rumoured to be Conan Doyle's inspiration for The Hound of the Baskervilles.

We did the full tour and thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon drive. Our favourite villages were Weobley, Pembridge and Eardisland which are all very pretty. A special mention to Eardisley which has the New Strand coffee shop. Lovely cream tea and 30000 books to browse.
Probably need a bit more time to explore Kington which is a small town with a thriving high street.
You could also make a good day out of it if you visit at least one pub or coffee shop in each village.
There are also some impressive churches. Dilwyn's has a fine entrance vestibule and generally the churches demonstrate that this was once an important administrative and commercial hub.

My wife and I did this trail many years ago so it was pleasant to read about it in a magazine. It brought back memories so we decided to visit it again whilst on a weekend break to Herefordshire. There are several named villages but the best we found was Weobley. There is a village walk pointing out the more important houses. Park in the village centre near the tourist information.
