Probably more attractive when there are more flowers. After the very poor weather most of the flower beds were looking rather sad. Nonetheless it is still a pleasant place to walk or sit and contemplate the nature of life...

My parents walked through these gardens when they were courting, and I have done the same. Wonderful memories of peace and tranquility. The sent of flowers is a must at the right time of year. I just hope the council keep up with the maintenance that is so badly needed on a continuous basis otherwise a small peace of history will be lost, where tourists will become bitterly disappointed. Keep up the good work Portsmouth, its not going unnoticed.

Wonderful history behind the construction of the gardens and a lovely place to enjoy a walk around the weather we where enjoying yesterday was not ideal but I'm sure once the flowers and plants are healthier looking a gardeners delight

A tradional garden right on the sea front. Not very big,but nice for a stroll. Well maintained, its a tradional sea front garden dating back to Victorian times. Not far from the Rose gardens/canoe lake gardens.
