This is a negative review, luckily we had much nicer experiences in Portsmouth as a whole. We entered this pub, nobody behind the bar but about half a dozen people playing darts or pool. It may well be that one or more of them were staff but since nobody spoke I can’t be sure. We waited for a few minutes and left feeling fortunate not to have been thrown onto the pavement! Ah well, they say you shouldn’t judge by appearance, but In the case of The Barley Mow, I think it’s justified, we only went in because we’d walked a long way and were thirsty.
