If you are interested in social and naval history, you'll need all day to enjoy this to the full and still wish you had longer.

so much to see. Our favourite was The Warrior, but the kids will love Action Stations.

“Ships galore”
Reviewed 5 March 2012

Did the boat trip around the harbour which was excellent with the war ships and historic ships It only cost a fiver so well worth it. HMS Dauntless was also just being pulled in by tug while we were there.

“Fabulous British History!”
Reviewed 5 March 2012

We saw many terrific sites in England, but this was one of the best, and certainly something you don't see every day - heck, ever! - in the US (where we live). OMG the Victory - I mean Nelson's actual flagship that was at Trafalger! "England Expects Every Man to do his duty" and all that. Wow how cool is that? And with the brass plaque embedded in the deck- at the EXACT PLACE where Nelson was hit by the French sharpshooter (supposedly he refused to remove to his Admiral's hat, which would have made him less conspicuous.) Then go belowdecis - to the shrine at e actual place where he died! (life size painting so you can see what it looked like). There is NO ONE who does history like the British, absolutely no one! (though we had to go to Windsor Castle to see THE ACTUAL BULLET that killed him - no kidding, they kept it, it is in the room with the mechanical tiger) Anyways, this whole place is great - we went on the Warrior, then spent way too much time at the Mary Rose exhibit - again, don't get me started, all that cool old stuff? Fabulous! Definitely go to this place, shows you why the British have their never give up attitude.

“HMS Victory”
Reviewed 3 March 2012

The ship is currently undergoing restoration therefore she doesn't look her best. Bit of a walk from the dockyard gates and parking is away well away from the gates. Not suitable for individuals with walking difficulties.
