“Spacious and charming cottage”
Reviewed 2 October 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Located just outside Stow On The Wold this cottage has plenty of room and is very well equipped and ideal for exploring the Cotswolds. In the summer the outside furniture would be a bonus for sitting and relaxing. Not much in the village but a Tesco within 2 Miles and a local pub within walking distance which serves food ( not tried).

“Lovely place to stay in the Cotswolds”
Reviewed 24 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We loved our stay at Appletree Cottage. The house is on a quiet street in pretty village, about a mile from Stow-on-the-Wold. House is spacious with good sized rooms, lots of space to relax, pretty terrace. If you like to hike, it is in walkable distance to other villages such as Stow, Bourton on the Water, Upper and Lower Slaughter. There are many guidebooks and (real) maps in the house to aid you. And it is a short drive to other towns such as Chipping Campden and Broadway. There is a large grocery store (Tesco) in Stow for all your food needs. Not many places in the Cotswolds are flexible in the rental period - this was great for us as we only had a few days not a whole week. We would definitely recommend Appletree Cottage to anyone visiting the Cotswolds.

“Fantastic House”
Reviewed 21 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

I booked a "mini break" at Appletree Cottage - as a surprise present for my wifes 60th Birthday - & what a great decision it was
The house [ to describe the property as a cottage doesn`t seem to do it justice to be honest!] is light, airy & spacious, very well equipped & in a great location.
Also some great little touches by the owners - including a welcome tray, fresh flowers in the living room, & the best of all - a cake & card for my wife [ I only mentioned her birthday briefly, when booking - several months earlier!]
And on top of all that...we had the best weather of the year so far!
Highly recommended

“Very good, nicely finished, just a few improvements”
Reviewed 31 December 2013 for a stay in December 2013

Nice 'extra Christmas' welcome with wine and chocs, although welcome tray was a little sparse. Apple Tree Cottage was a lovely warm cottage and is an ideal location from which to visits the delights of the Cotswolds. The house was beautifully finished and fitted; however the lounge would benefit from a low table and some additional lamp lighting. A few maintenance things need to be sorted such as emergency torch (rusted) and the outside lighting not working, but all-in-all a well kept clean property in a lovely secluded spot.

Thank you for your review and we are glad that you enjoyed your stay. The Christmas tree was on the little table in the lounge and there is an additional little table in the conservatory if you wanted to move it. The outside light needed a new bulb and the torch new batteries, both are now done and we will add them to our weekly check list.

“Tranquil small village life”
Reviewed 4 October 2013 for a stay in September 2013

This cottage is 1 mile West of Stow-on-the-wold in the small village of Lower Swell. As such it is a very quiet and peaceful setting in which to base one-self. A beautiful stone cottage with ample facilities: and the owners left milk for us to use, there is a washing machine, self-catering facilities, TV, internet, and the house is large and comfortable. I recommend it to anyone with a family - it slept 2 adults and 3 children comfortably, and is close to the amenities of Stow-on-the-wold, and there is an ancient pub a short walk away that serves meals - and a quaint telephone box that is now inhabited by a defibrillator, that makes for an amusing photo. Our main regret was we only had two nights there, otherwise we would have explored more of the walks around Lower Swell an Stow.

Good things that were above and beyond: sky TV and internet, a comfortably warm conservatory out the back, plenty of room, milk, coffee and tea available on arrival, washing machine and dryer.

Things that could be improved are - the double bed for us as a tall couple would be better as a queen, and the dishwasher is in the laundry rather than the kitchen which makes it impractical to use - we just hand washed.
