“Amazing place to stay, wonderful for adults and children”
Reviewed 27 March 2014 for a stay in February 2014

I have stayed here about 3 times now with my family. Great setting and walks. Short distance from swimming pool, supermarket and main town. Facilities are amazing and they have catered for everyone. Thoroughly recommend!!!

“A truly fabulous treasure hidden in Gloucestershire”
Reviewed 9 March 2014 for a stay in February 2014

We are greeted like family when we arrive, nothing is too much trouble. The property is spacious but inclusive. We had 3 generations together and the space was perfect for everyone. The list of other services we could purchase, alternative therapies, or meals cooked are really novel. We were close to Gloucester and Stroud and Colesbourne snowdrops were spectacular. Feel nervous reviewing such a gem as it may get so popular we wont be able to book out next visit!

“Magic location, fabulous accommodation”
Reviewed 19 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

This was our fourth year staying here for a week with all the family. It's like walking into someone's home - everything you could possibly want is provided. Fabulously high quality furnishings and kitchen equipment, exceptionally clean and the owner has become a firm friend, popping in for a chat. There are great walks in practically every direction and a lovely view over the green hills of Gloucestershire. There's a cottage too so we rent that also now that the family's getting even bigger. I can't recommend this accommodation highly enough. Book with confidence.

“I wish it was mine!!”

This is the most gorgeous converted barn, we rent the barn and stables but you can rent separately. It's the most beautiful building lovingly restored to the highest standard. It is truly loved by the owner and it shows. If you want somewhere to go for a brilliant family holiday or a quiet getaway, I couldn't recommend more highly. We have been away to a few other places but nothing compares so now we just go here every year.

“Perfect place to stay.....”
Reviewed 14 November 2013 for a stay in October 2013

We've recently had a fabulous mid week family stay at Barncastle for a birthday celebration. What can I say that hasn't already been said in the previous reviews. It's just a wonderful place for a 'get together'. The 'castle' is beautifully renovated and decorated throughout. The bedrooms are really lovely, with more than enough bathrooms/shower rooms to cope with larger numbers of residents. The kitchen is a wonderful focal point for everyone to sit around the table for an informal 'breakfast/meal' gathering. If you want more formality, the dining room, with it's very large dining table is just right for the job. Why not hire a chef for the evening, like we did. It was so enjoyable. There is more than everything you need at Barncastle, right down to books, dvd's, cd's, children's games and indeed lots for the adults as well. Val has thought of everything and spared nothing, including some lovely personal touches like a yummy cake on arrival, fresh flowers, wine and a complimentary supply of other basic needs. Just bring your suitcase, that's all you'll need.
We also stayed at Barn Cottage, just across the driveway, earlier in the year. This is a smaller property, sleeps 4 but is just as lovely and is another place well worth a visit. So cosy and all the same amenities but just on a smaller scale. If you need a 'bigger property' for an event, why not hire both of them.
I would totally recommend both properties, you won't be disappointed at all.
I cannot wait to return again sometime in the future.
