The only problem we had was the place was filthy. My brother had booked and paid for a week over Xmas as he was visiting from Oz. We didn't say anything to him as we didn't want to spoil it. Whether he said anything I don't know. Downstairs wasn't too bad apart from the coffee table and windows were very dirty and the rug was stained with red wine. The downstairs toilet was dirty and had cobwebs everywhere. The upstairs shower room was quite disgusting. My mum went and bought bleach to clean it. My daughter was staying in the small room with bunk beds, which were white. The mattresses didn't quite fit, so the corners of the frames were visible and they were black with dust and hair. There were cobwebs, dead spiders and marks over the walls everywhere. It was a real shame because other than that we had a great time. The whole place was lovely and the manager very friendly. I think for the price paid, it was not up to that standard. If not for the cleanliness issues I would highly recommend it and give it an excellent rating. Maybe we were just unlucky with it being over Christmas and I will feel bad if this is the case.

Our group was a large three generational family group of 14 and ranged in age from 13 to late 70's. We hired two lodges which were close to one another to accommodate us all. There were three adults, three teenagers and a dog staying at Spa Lodge. The facilities were great. The lodge was equipped with everything that we needed and all of the rooms were clean, well maintained and comfortable. There real treat though was the view onto the lake from the back of the lodge and the ever changing vista that this provided, from the early morning mist rising over the lake to a clear autumnal sunset over the water - lovely!
The facilities at the Lower Mill Estate - the pool (indoor and out and even the eco pool (Brrrr!)), the gym, the spa, the walks around the estate and the cafe/restaurant were all excellent too. The only thing that I would mention is that the wifi is relatively slow and with three teenagers used to living in the digital age this elicited a few moans. On the positive side however, it did get them out and about and enjoying the estate and the surrounding area which was a big plus in my book!

We stayed at the lodge for 5 days over New Years! Place was clean and has a nice location right near the Spa & swimming pool. The lodge was well equipped. Only thing to mention is that it sleeps 8 people, however the dining table only seats 6 and sofas were a bit of a squeeze. Also, one of the rooms has a bunk bed, so great for kids not for couples! There were 8 adults and 2 children in our group and the children had the travel cots which was great. We made use of the outdoor BBQ (yes it was cold, but perfect!). The log fire is a nice touch, however the logs do not burn longer than an hr. All in all, we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves during our stay. The lodge catered to our needs and would definitely come back and stay here again. Thanks to Jamie & team for all your help.
