“Perfect for a get together!”
Reviewed 19 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

I booked Nethercote for a group of 6 x 50+ ladies who meet annually over a weekend and found this delight of a house within easy walking to the main street in Bourton-on-the-Water with lots of eateries, quaint shops and walks from the property. The accommodation was perfect for our needs especially as we didn't use our cars! It was very clean, is well laid out, pleasing on the eye and well equipped. We were happy to take advantage of the log burner on our chilly evenings. The welcome pack on arrival was very much appreciated.
The landlord was very easy to deal with and accommodating and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this property to either a group like ourselves or perhaps 2 or 3 families. If we return to Bourton-on-the-Water, we would definitely rent this house again.

“A perfect escape to the country!”
Reviewed 2 March 2016 for a stay in February 2016

We had a wonderful stay at Nethercote House. The house is beautifully done, all rooms are very luxurious. A great house for a group get together and so close to the centre of Bourton. Michael was extremely flexible with our departure plans, this was really appreciated. A great weekend escape to the country, would highly recommend!

“Nothing but praise! ”
Reviewed 30 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

This house was perfect for our large family gathering. All of the rooms were spacious, well decorated, clean and comfortable. There were plenty of bathrooms and the kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils required. There was plenty of fridge space, having the dishwasher was handy and having the option of the BBQ was great too. The kitchen diner was a great space for gathering over food and was comfortable enough to sit for hours and chat/play games.

The garden was smaller than it looked in the pictures but was enough for what we needed and the garage games room provided some extra entertainment as well.

There was enough room for all of our cars and whilst the house was on a main road it was not disturbed by noise.

The house is located in short walking distance to the beautiful village of bourton on the water. There's a supermarket within a 2 minute drive and lots of options for eating out. There are also lots of villages and visitor attractions to visit nearby.

The owner was very helpful answering questions we had in advance and always replied promptly with advice. We are all happy with the price we paid for our stay as well.

If we had to be very picky we'd say a nice touch would be to leave some more dishwasher tablets, some mini soaps/hand gel and more toilet rolls in the bathrooms. (Just to confirm dishwasher tablets and toilet rolls were provided on arrival but with 14 people in our group they did run out quickly).

We also thought the beds on the ground floor would have been too low to the ground for elderly/disabled people to get in and out of.

But none of those are deal breakers by any means and we would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone or to go back ourselves again anytime!!!

“Superb, well equipped family house in excellent location”

We stayed at Nethercote house for one week in May 2015. We were 4 couples and had 4 kids under the age of 4. The house works really well in that format as all the bedrooms are spacious and there are plenty of bathrooms. The decor is excellent throughout and the house has a stunning kitchen with a large communal table. The lounge is cosy but still comfortably sat all 8 adults. There is also a separate snug for older kids to use with a sofa, TV and DVD player.

The garden is a nice size and there is also a garage with table tennis and table football available with plenty of space to store bikes, etc. We comfortably parked 4 cars on the driveway.

The house is location location as you are a 5 min walk away from the centre of Bourton on the Water. The walk is very scenic as you can follow the river into the town. There are plenty of places to eat and drink. There also lots of things to do in the town (model railway, car museum, wonder around the shops, Birdland) and you're a short drive away from many other scenic towns.

We would highly recommend this house. Our only slight issue was the master bedroom was above the lounge and there is virtually no sound proofing. Surprisingly our son slept through the noise of the adults below but if we went to bed first it was hard to sleep as it felt like you are in the same room.

Everything else is exceptional and the owner had excellent communications with us and was great to deal with. We are highly likely to visit again.
