“Bourton Belle”
Reviewed 23 July 2013 for a stay in June 2013

Our booking enquiries were responded to promptly and with clarity. A deposit was required but no bond was required for our one week stay in June 2013. Directions were clear.
Parking right outside the cottage is almost exclusive as the lane is at the end of the lane which adjoins the river only some 15 metres away. The location is very central being opposite the last of five bridges (this one is pedestrian only) crossing the water. Sometimes parking can be sought after by town workers and day tourists but generally is not a problem. The space is limited by a mini green bordered by large stones that make passing and turning a bit awkward.
Diane called in half an hour after our arrival to explain how things worked and we had no need to contact her after that.
The Cottage is excellent. The welcome package of wine, juice, milk, butter and chocolates was very warming. The ground floor living area is comfortable with a lounge, TV, a circular eating table and a nest of tables. The room is very light with lots of windows. It would be interesting to see how the room could be if the TV and table were reversed, mainly because the eating area is a little dark. The kitchen is a highlight with every imaginable item including a surplus of cutlery and crockery. Even the supply of containers for food storage. Glasses for any occasion and heaps of them. The fittings and equipment are of the highest quality. At the end of the kitchen is the utility room with washer and a separate toilet, both conveniently located. The windows in both the kitchen and living area provide a nice view of the of the mini green and property opposite. The occasional passer-by does not cause any intrusion.
Upstairs to the first bedroom with two comfortable size beds, wardrobe and room for suitcases. On the same level is the bathroom which is OK for the toilet and basin (the lighting could be a bit brighter). The bath is small with a hand held shower which requires some maneouring to keep the water inside the bath. The headroom here may be a challenge for tall people. Finally, the next level is a steep stairwell to the double bedroom which again provides a comfortable bed, clothes hanging and storage space. The stairs make it difficult for that night time visit to the bathroom and would be awkward for people with mobility issues.
The Cottage is quirky with some lines (ceiling, floor, walls)not straight which adds to the character. Heating and hot water were terrific.
There are hardly any negatives. Some MINOR issues are the bathroom as mentioned, no WiFi (but we knew that beforehand - The Knightsbridge Inn just down the way provides free access), lighting in the bathroom and the curtains could be more blockout.
Overall, a first class cottage with quality fittings yet a "at home" feel and its location is supreme.

“Perfect location for walking around Bourton”
Reviewed 27 May 2013 for a stay in May 2013

Perfect two-bedroom house that combined old world charm with modern updates and appliances. One bedroom with a double bed and a second bedroom with twin beds was perfect. Located adjacent to the stream that meanders through the town, we walked to dinner and the shops. Loved being able to do some laundry in the washer/dryer in the middle of our trip through England.

“The ideal place to stay in Bourton on the Water”
Reviewed 9 May 2013 for a stay in April 2013

We rented the cottage for a week and loved it! It was everything as advertised and more. We had one question, called the owner, left a message and she came right over. Would definitely stay there again.
