“Cosy Cotswold's Cottage”
Reviewed 11 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

Allerton Cottage is a cosy retreat with a real home from home feel in the perfect location right on the high street. All the little extras were a lovely touch and very much enjoyed! Thank you for a fantastic stay and I will definitely recommend to others who are looking for a stay in the area.

“Charming Cotswold Cottage”

We stayed in Allerton Cottage for a weekend with friends. We arrived late on Friday after a long drive from London to be greeted by a beautiful cottage in an equally beautiful town.

The cottage is absolutely spotless and the kitchen was very well equipped with tea and coffee available. Also a box of chocolates is waiting upon arrival! The lounge had an open fire which we got going on Friday night. My only gripes about the cottage are the lack of shower curtain in the bathroom and the steep stairs to the top bedroom. However, this is of course to be expected in period properties.

We visited the maze, which at 30 I thought would be naff but was actually good fun. The puzzle solving aspect does make it, and luckily the boys beat the girls! We also visited the model village which was very quaint and well worth a wander round.

All in all a very good stay and I am sure we will be back

“"Great little cottage"”

My Husband and I stayed at Allerton on the 12th of September for a week we absolutely loved it , It was exactly as you see in the photos and spotlessly clean, a kind gesture of chocolates and wine were left also basic provisions of milk, tea, and coffee. The cottage was real old world and full of character ,The beds were very comfortable it was just such a nice place to stay , A beautiful fireplace to light a fire if you were staying in colder months it would be very cosy , there was also central heating to heat the rest of the house which would be great for the chillier nights , If there was one very small issue I would say the bath could benefit from a shower curtain as there is no separate shower so your just using the hand held shower hose sitting in the bath but again this didn't cause any major problems . The cottage is in a fabulous location on the high street very near to everything, Bourton on the water is a beautiful village which we used as a base for travelling all around the other little villages, Broadway being one of my favourites, so when you're thinking about heading to this area I can't recommend Allerton Cottage and Bourton on the water enough !

“cosy and comfortable holiday cottage”
Reviewed 14 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We enjoyed our weeks stay as a small Family (one child 2 years) very much. The Cottage has a very cosy atmosphere and the beds were of good Quality. We were welcomed with some groceries in the fridge which was very friendly. The Cottage is equipped very well and even our daughter found some toys. Bourton is a busy Little village during the day, in the evenings ist very quiet. We enjoyed to have some Restaurants and Shops in Walking distance. On sunny days the river is perfect even for Little children to Play in the water.

“Perfect location, cosy cottage.”
Reviewed 17 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We would stay again in this adorable cottage in a heartbeat. It is absolutely charming - tiny, but heaving with character. In winter the little sitting room would be cosy with its open fire - bring your own logs - and even though it was quite chilly the light-flooded kitchen was glorious and so warm and filled with sunshine we had to open the windows (my daughter needed sunglasses at breakfast!). The bedrooms are small but charming and all decorated in tasteful Farrow-ish colours throughout. Our only tiny gripe would be the tragic shower whose flow is analogous to standing outside on an Autumnal day with a fine mist so hair washing has to happen in the wash basin unless you have a buzzcut. Location is top banana; seconds from the high street for grocery essentials yet marvellously quiet, tucked down a side street. We wouldn't hesitate to come back.
