Third HF house I've stayed in and like the others, excellent accomodation, food and staff. Situated in the centre of Bourton-on-the-Water, yet quiet (room faced the back garden). A good area for walking and visiting country houses and gardens.

I paid for a premier room on an HF holiday and it was very clean, comfortable and looked recently re-furbished. It was in the main building. There was a big double bed which left little space in the rest of the room ie probably a metre round it. The bathroom was more spacious with a lovely, large shower and plenty of hot water. There was a kettle, hairdryer and good TV but only wifi in the main lounge area which was a nuisance and the reason I did not give it excellent. There was no mattress cover under sheet which is unusual. The food was very good and portions so large that I asked for half of the main course. My minor criticisms are that the porridge was very watery and the same chocolate biscuits and cake were offered every day for the packed lunch.

Sat nav told me I was there but initially I couldn’t see an obvious hotel sign. The entrance is the parking at the back is very narrow. The hotel is very conveniently located with just a couple of minutes walk to the main street and bus stops.

Room Tip: Definitely worth paying the extra for the premier room.

The hotel was an excellent base for the Bridge holiday. This is an 18th century hotel, so no there is not a lift. However, there is good food, a decent bar, excellent packed lunch option, comfortable double rooms. Plenty of parking in their private car park. Friendly and helpful staff. Close proxiity to the centre of Bourton. Oh, and the Bridge tuition was top notch.

Whether you are walking with HF Holidays or vacationing on your own, this historic property is steps away from the stone bridges over the central river through the town centre. Lots of hot water and rooms have a kettle and tea selections. Excellent meals. Daniel the manager and Loreena, restaurant manager, work hard to make your stay enjoyable. Don't forget to go up the central staircase to the tower for views of the town. There are even chairs there to watch the sunset! Public footpath across the street takes you to the lovely towns of Lower and Upper Slaughter.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back face the garden

We stayed here for a 3 day walking holiday and a very keen price. The accommodation was excellent as was the food, which included a brilliant packed lunch which you assembled from a limitless table yourselves. The house was warm and bright and the staff very friendly indeed. We will definitely now join the HF group who own this and many others
