If you like to hear the word 'yes' to any of those little requests you may have as a guest in your hotel of choice, then this is the place for you. Our relaxing to day'Gourmet Getaway' was great! The staff were always friendly, attentive and helpful. From preparing the outdoor swimming pool early (7.15am) so I could take my early morning swim before breakfast to bring you that 2nd double espresso for breakfast. One was always met with a smile and the question as to whether anything was required. Thankyou for a lovely time.

This was our second stay at the Maison Talbooth, and was a vast improvement on the last time, 6 years ago.

The hotel is set in beautiful grounds in the middle of stunning countryside, and is worth a visit just for the view.

We stayed in the Wordsworth Room, which was described as a Luxury Room. And it fitted the description pretty well- spacious, comfortable and well appointed, with a very large bathroom. Although there were some signs of disrepair in the bathroom - marks on the ceiling, shower grouting not perfect etc.

The pool is well worth a visit too. We spent a couple of hours in a nicely-sheltered area, that created the impression that you were somewhere in the Med, and not in the middle of cold, wet England!

But £400 per night? Bit steep.

Room tip: All rooms appear to be good

We had a fantastic family wedding at Maison Talbooth. The welcome was warm, the staff were friendly, helpful and ensured everyone was comfortable and well looked after. The rooms are beautiful. Understated elegance with the most comfortable beds, luxurious bath, gowns and slippers. Mini bar, tea kettle, coffee machine and fruit in the room. The pool room just off the hotel has an honesty bar with snacks. Log fire outside for those chilly but warm enough days/evenings to be outdoors. Beautiful pool and jacuzzi. The countryside is beautiful, the surrounding towns delightful. A pleasure to stay at Maison Talbooth.

Well this was really not a good place to have afternoon tea the service was diabolical we had to disabled people in our group and was put right in the middle of the room so access for other people was very bad to and the fillings in the sandwich was very TAST less and the cakes where a bit better but never advise someone to go here
