“Cosy and warm in a fantastic location!”
Reviewed 29 December 2014 for a stay in December 2014

We stayed at the Quarter House on Boxing Day for a mini break.

After some initial technical difficulties with the booking prices, Sally was kind enough to offer us an early check in.

Apartment is quaint, with all mod cons like DVD and microwave (though no freezer compartment if you're staying a bit longer).

Fire was very welcome and logs were available when we asked. Jacuzzi was a lovely treat too.

Location fantastic and friendly owners just downstairs if you have any problems.

Thanks so much for this review - comments are always welcome. There is actually a brand new freezer on the top floor - sorry you missed it, perhaps we should have pointed it out ... hope you managed to have your drinks chilled enough without! Hope to welcome you again sometime.

“A beautifully situated little hideaway”
Reviewed 19 December 2014 for a stay in December 2014

A well-maintained apartment in the heart of beautiful Rye. It was well-equipped and served both as a cosy hideaway and as a handy base for sightseeing. It's tall and thin, which means that there are lots of stairs, but each floor is thoughtfully designed and laid out, with good views from the top. Having a jacuzzi bath was a nice bonus, but the water could have done with being a little hotter. There was paid parking nearby, but it was very cheap and, to be honest, there was little reason to use the car as so much was available on the doorstep. The railway station was also only a short walk away. Overall, this was a marvellous little place to spend a few days, and I have no doubt that we will be returning.

Thanks! That's so nice to hear. Actually, re. the water temperature: we are now adding a sign to say "run the hot tap slowly" as then it gets very hot. It's just one of those Medieval Rye things! Really glad you all had a great time and hope to see you again.

“Great Place to stay.”

Was here for the second time a couple of months back ,so it is doing something right! You collect the keys from a little safe-box. Steep stairs to a well equipped kitchen and lounge. TV a bit confusing but we worked it out in the end. Comfortable sofa and nice window to see what is going on. More steep stairs to an open-plan bedroom with two double beds. Loads of games for kids to play. There is a washing machine at top of first stairs. Best car park is the one by Cinque Ports Tavern (Cinque Ports Street, well D'uh!), which is only £1 per night, though you can't park there on Wednesday evening as market on Thursday. Owner is a very nice smiley lady who makes you very welcome.

“Fabulous little secret....living timepiece of history and modern comforts”

Almost didn't want to review this....as wanted to keep it a secret for myself! Comforts and history in one....location is perfect for shops or like me....watching world go by from lounge window...wonderful facilities...spend siesta time in jacuzzi...sleep warm and comfortable at night in cosines...I recommend this...leave your car in car park and get train and bus to local towns,as train station 5 mins walk....or spend days in rye, morning coffees, afternoon cream teas,in town or quayside....all less than 5 mins walk....either direction...I could see why people come and stay then end up living here in rye....this holiday rental is a good start and you'll find you want to come back as I was so comfortable...I ended up pretending I lived in rye...this house made me feel like already did...so yes I recommend this thoroughly...like I said wanted to keep it a secret as I'm hoping it'll be free when I book next time! Thank you Sally and family!
