“Cosy cottage-calm location-fascinating coast.”
Reviewed 27 October 2013 for a stay in September 2013

Granny's Cottage more than lived up to our expectations. Pett Level is a peaceful spot on an interesting beach and the cottage was comfortable and homely . A very enjoyable stay at the seaside in September.

“A good and quiet seaside location with excellent accommodation.”

Our party consisted of 2 grandparents and their son and daughter in law with 3 children under 7 years old. The accommodation was perfect for this group, the ground floor had a large dining room / kitchen, lounge and bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The first floor had 2 bedrooms with a separate bathroom. This arrangement meant the 2 families had their own private space but with a common meeting place. The whole house was spotlessly clean with good quality bedding and towels. All the fixtures and fittings and furniture were of excellent quality. Outside was a small patio with a landscaped garden giving direct access to the beach, the children loved it especially in the evenings before bedtime.
There is plenty of flat walking in the area either on the raised embankment , the beach or by the side of the old military canal. Rye and Hastings are approx. 15 minutes away by car with Rye having a cultural and historical interest and Hastings being a traditional British seaside resort with plenty of good shops and lots to keep the children entertained. A visit to the village of Battle ( the site of the "Battle of Hastings") is highly recommended.
Grannys Cottage is in a quiet location with a pub 50 metres away but no shops within walking distance. A busy roads runs past the property with an hourly bus service to Rye and Hastings.
