“Perfect location for old town Hastings”
Reviewed 15 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

This cottage is thoughtfully & beautifully furnished. A great location in Hastings Old Town. You can see the sea from the cottage. Shops on the high street are a 5 min walk. Or if you prefer a country walk, the cliff path starts opposite the cottage. There is a vibrant local pub 2 mins away. We were welcomed at the cottage with a bottle of wine & milk in the fridge plus homemade biscuits - such a nice touch. Very comfy cottage & I wouldn't hesitate to go back to 23 Tackleway.

“lovely cottage, perfectly situated in the old town”
Reviewed 12 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

If you have chosen Hastings as your holiday or short break destination, then you couldn't really ask for more from a holiday rental. The cottage is situated less than five minutes walk from all the main attractions in Hastings old town. It is just two minutes from the seafront and has Hastings East Hill literally just across the road. Cottage is very spacious, warm and cosy.
The booking process was simple and the communication was as good as can be expected, so no complaints there at all.
We were welcomed with a complimentary tin of welcome biscuits and cakes, home-made, which the children quickly demolished. House was very clean and tidy and well-equipped. Great views from the bedrooms upstairs. For those who value it, wi-fi is lightning fast and reliable. Racking my brains but can't think of anything that disappointed.
Some of the previous guests wrote in the guestbook that parking was an issue, but we were very much out of season and had no trouble whatsoever. Not sure how this works in high Summer though.
In short, if we decide to come to Hastings area again, we will certainly try to book this cottage.

“Lovely place - but not great if you're tall!”
Reviewed 10 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Incredibly clean and spankingly renovated quaint fisherman's cottage at the top of the street. Beautiful views of the sea. Easy parking. Tastefully decorated and furnished. Warm and no rattling windows, despite the crazy winds. It would have been excellent were it not for the very short double bed in the main bedroom. My partner is 5ft 11inches and he couldn't stretch out due to the bedstead, which meant he slept sideways and I was half falling out of the bed. Needless to say, not a lot of sleep was had. And not for the right reasons! The mattress was also very saggy, which didn't help. I would love to recommend this house, but only if you are a shorty. I do hope the owner will consider replacing the bed with something more suitable - it's such an important feature of a holiday home and it surprises me she chose aesthetics over comfort. That's the only reason for my thumbs down.

“Wonderful ”
Reviewed 11 November 2015 for a stay in November 2015

I loved this quaint cottage with its original yet contemporary and fresh decor. The views were delightful and we arrived to a glorious sunset over the sea that could be seen from the comfy sofa.
I love the children's room - we will have to return when our baby is big enough to use it.
The crown pub a few seconds walk away does good food and the people are super friendly.
If like us you have dogs try walking up the steps near the cottage and letting them run free across acres of grassland. Just be careful not to get blown away if out of season!
Great cottage highly recommended.

“Beautiful cottage close to the sea”
Reviewed 7 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

This is the most beautiful cottage we have ever stayed in. It has been tastefully decorated and furnished recently with a nautical theme throughout.

It's in Old Town Hastings, on a quiet road. The walk from the sea to the cottage is romantic, on quaint little roads.

The cottage is equipped with everything we could possibly have needed for our holiday, including travel cot and high chair.
