It is a quirky fun attraction. It would be a good place to visit if you had spare time in Hastings.
There is an option to buy a little flash light when you arrive at this place. We didn't but could have come in handy during the beginning. Worth the visit and enjoyed thoroughly. Wouldn't advise disabled as access not very good or wide.
Was good but felt like a few things could be a little updated.
I am aware caves were of course dark, but a little bit of dim lighting would have been nice so we didn't have to either hold our phones or have to buy a torch... but that isn't such a big issue.
We went through relatively quickly, but to be fair we had it to do ourselves so that isn't really a complaint!
We visited here as part of a multi attraction ticket.
As a couple in our 60's, we spent a fairly enjoyable hour here. However, we did feel that it was more child interactive, but entertaining nevertheless.
There was no human interaction at all and was all self learnt, reading info boards and watching video screens.
We took our own torches which saved buying them when you arrived there. They do come in very handy.
We wouldn't bother to visit here again.
Lots of history here, from the old smuggling days of the 1700s to the use of the caves as bomb shelters in WW2 and as a ballroom up until the mid-70s.
Take a coat and a torch, as it is cold and dark down below
Dear Scott Anthony L,

The kids were looking forward to exploring the caves however they got a bit bored. Even though there was a fair few things set out to see, the children got bored easily and no real information was learnt.
It was quite expensive for what it was and wouldn't recommend for children under 8
Good afternoon,
Thank you for your review.
We are sorry your children were bored, we haven't heard this complaint often. Hopefully they enjoyed the interactive area and games.
It takes around an hour to get through the Caves and there is plenty to keep everyone occupied.
We often welcome children under 8 who really enjoy themselves, we expect it all depends on the child!

If you’re planning a trip to Hastings make sure you take the time to see the Smuggles Caves!
