Myself and my fiancé spent a night in Brighton with no real plan of what to do with our evening. A bit of google work suggest this place. The club night in the basement was Dude ranch (pop punk, nu-metal everything we listened to as teenagers) and we had the most amazing time. We drank, danced and sung along till the small hours of the night. The bar prices were average about what we were expecting. Nice location very close to a lot of the hotels in the area.

Rubbish venue for gigs. Horrible experience. Sound bouncing around and distorting the music. Painfully intense lights at the back of the stage blinding the audience. Lots of people complaining about the lights. Claustrophic. And the place stank of disinfectant.

Hello Camilla... we're sorry you didn't enjoy the show. The band were really happy with the sound on the night so not sure why you would think this. They had their own sound person with them and he was very happy with how it sounded. We didn't have any complaints about the lighting as you have suggested and again the lights were on quite a basic setting for this night and set very low. It's a small basement venue and was busy so I guess it could be described as claustrophobic but that seems to work for most people. The venue had been cleaned thoroughly before the show but I was there for soundcheck and there was no smell of disinfectant in the venue. Maybe a hint of lemon from the floor cleaner. Have a nice a day.

It is what it is - friendly bar mostly full of students, live music and disco afterwards, little pricey but so is most of Brighton.

A monthly comedy night with the fantastic Brian Gittins.
Seriously, one of the best comedy nights in Brighton.. and probably the world.
Always a great night.

With great acts like Romesh Ranganathan, Al Murray, Richard Herring, Tony Law, Seann Walsh.. oh it's just brilliant.

Great venue for comedy. I've seen a few bands here but nothing compares to the comedy nights here.
Great beer, cheap and tasty pizzas and Awesome staff. A huge and firm favourite.

As part of a trip to Brighton and staying in the YHA, looked for bars and pubs nearby to spend an evening. Found this on apple maps and saw they had a Friends quiz on the night that we were there which was great luck. The pizza tasted good that they had (minimal options), but people were also ordering food into the place; don't know if that is just for quiz night or if it is something they allow all the time.
The quiz was very enjoyable and there was a lot of banter and good vibes around the room. Think the next one is the 6th of December (may want to check the website just in case), and is series 8 of Friends. Great music playing there, with what sounded like a club downstairs. 10 minute walk from YHA.
