After reading some of the reviews on this site, I felt compelled to write a review myself. I think that the people complaining about this place must have been expecting a 5 star, Hiltonesque palace of wonder and obviously were just looking for things to complain about.
Myself and 2 friends arrived on Saturday afternoon on what was an amazingly sunny day and upon check in were offered a seat in the cosy bar area whilst we waited for our room to be ready (we had arrived slightly earlier than the suggested check in time).
When we arrived at our room (22) we were greeted with comfy, clean beds and a great view of the sea (complete with view of the pier). Some people have complained that they have to lean out of the window and look down the street, but this is an extreme overreaction. I was able to lay on my bed and still have a great view out of the bay window, down the street towards the sea. The view of the neighbouring park area was a nice little bonus as well.
We also had a nice selection of teas and coffees as well as some shortbread biscuits laid out for us.
Thoughtfully labelled with a 'sliding door' plaque was the door which led us to our en suite bathroom. Unlike some reviews on here would make you believe, there was more than enough leg room for anyone using the toilet and we even managed to fit all 3 of us in the shower.
After a great night out enjoying the local bars, we arrived back at our hotel. Again, I'm not sure what noise some of the other reviews on here are talking about, but it was nicely quiet when we got back to our rooms and we managed to fall asleep peacefully.
The breakfast that was offered was great. The tea/coffee was brilliant and the vegetarian breakfast option chosen by my friend went down a treat. After breakfast, we headed back to our room for our final hours stay before check out, just enjoying the comfort of our room with a (great) view.
As we weren't due to leave Brighton for a few more hours, we were able to leave our bags for collection later and were able to enjoy a second brilliantly sunny day by the sea.
We would definitely stay here again as it was a great place to stay and had a great location.
