I was tempted by the display of quiches and other home made looking dishes displayed in the window. Sadly my lunch of ham and tomato quiche with 3 salads didn’t deliver. Pastry on the quiche was a bit soggy but the main problems was the salads. Potato salad used (possibly leftover) patatas bravas but with an unpleasantly robust dressing - tasted like a load of paprika? Kale salad was big pieces of kale including stalk, large chunks of raw courgette and lumps of flavourless tomato. Coleslaw was the nicest - fresh tasting and nice flavours. I think the salads would have benefitted from some fresh herbs, seasoning and just more care, attention and love. Coffee was weak and like warm. Given the number and variety of cafes on St James street offering excellent cafe and fresh, tasty food I think Bona Foodie needs to up its game.
