The Brighton hotel is nothing other than wonderful. Fantastic value for money. A lovely clean and well furnished twin room with a sea veiw. Couldn't have ask for more.
Breakfast was of a really good standard.
The staff were helpful and cheerful. Although having a proper bar person would make much better atmosphere in the bar area.

All in all we left 2 very happy relaxed ladies.

Thankyou.

Stayed June 2011, the room was pokey, cold, dirty carpet, dirty windows and stains on ceiling.
Water was coming through steadily into the reception/bar area. Worst of all the dining room was not open for evening meals leaving a choice of a toastie for dinner whilst listening to the completely out of tune piano or facing the wind and downpour. Never again, it cost about £80 per night so expected better.

Room Tip: Don't go

Stayed here with Mrs Doc as she attended a conference nearby. Accommodation was at a premium and as always we perused TA before booking. This seafront hotel appeared the best of a bad bunch but nevertheless we got a very good deal on a superior room with a sea view. Parking space in Brighton is like the proverbial rocking horse whatsit, so we were delighted to find that the hotel had a free space and for only £15/day. NCP was £25 last time we stayed in Brighton!

The reception staff were pleasant and helpful. Our room (114) was spacious with and outstanding panoramic view of a very blustery and rainy sea complete with the bandstand and what remains of the old pier. I'd have to agree that the room probably could have done with updating, but it was clean and certainly did not detract from our stay. The bed is the most comfortable we have experienced for a long time! We are unable to comment on whether the floors sloped or not as we were not traveling with a ball (!!!!????)

Breakfast is a little hectic, but is wholesome and well worth the £5 charged if pre-booked.

All in all this was a very pleasant experience and extremely good value for money.

Room Tip: Pre-book breakfast; it's cheaper than turning up ad-hoc

Room - I had a single room (423), with an uninspiring view, that had to be reached by going up and down small flights of stairs and through several fire doors (not easy with a suitcase). The floor had a definite slant (so much so that I tended roll to one side of the bed)! Windows badly fitting, decor tatty. Very little space. On the plus side, it was very quiet and the bed comfortable (apart from the quirky slant).

Hotel in general - excellent location, very friendly and helpful staff.

Breakfast (with a choice from menu) - very good. I recommend the kippers!

Overall, despite the poor room, it was a pleasant enough stay.

I stayed here for one night and would review the Hotel as average. The main reception and Bar area are really nice/ smart with nice helpful reception staff. To get to some of the rooms it is a bit of a maze including mine, but that is the nature of the building. Rooms are what you would expect for the money although on the small side with the double bed being cosy. Rooms are fine for the money I paid, if I wanted a posher room then I would pay more and go to a different hotel. But no complaints really. Location is great being right on the seafront. If you wanted to use the carpark then arrive early or book if that is possible as the places are limited being a very small car park.
