We walked from the Marina right to Rottingdean with the dogs and I have to say it was amazing. Beautiful fresh air, amazing views and big hot mug of tea half way round. Perfect.

I whiled away a few hours by cycling along Hove seafront and all along the undercliff path till I arrived at Saltdean's White Cliff Cafe, where I stopped for a picnic lunch before returning back to Brighton.
It's a very easy route, pretty much flat all the way there, with possibly a slight inclination on the way back.
All in all it was a lovely way to spend a few hours in the Sun.

The Undercliff seems to attract walkers, cyclists, families and people soaking up the views.... dependent on the weather. When the weather is windy you d have to watch out for waves breaking over the walls though :).
I will be using it as an opportunity to keep fit throughout the year ahead and am looking forward to the next time I go.

Generally a lovely place to walk, although the stretch leading up to Brighton is a bit the worse for wear and could do with a bit of TLC.

I use this route regularly to get from Rottingdean & the Marina and it is a fabulous walk, different every day. On sunny days it is often very warm and sheltered, even in winter. You can see the oyster-catchers on the rocks at low tide and it is fun dodging the sea spray on windy days (tho avoid when very rough as it is dangerous)There are two lovely cafes on route if you have time to stop. It is a great route for walkers, runners, kids, dog walkers & leisure cyclists. The majority of cyclists are considerate of others and observe the clearly marked 10 miles an hour speed limit, & pedestrian priority signs. - & obviously they need to dismount at the cafe areas for safety reasons. Unfortunately I have seen a few near misses between cyclists & pedestrians, and there have been collisions- & this has put some people off using this lovely walk, which is such a shame. So speed cyclists please note: if you want to channel your inner Chris Hoy or Laura Kenny, cycle along the top path, which is perfect!

The Undercliff Walk is a walk alongside the small beaches between Brighton Marina and Saltdean. It is wide and concrete and perfect for cyclists and dog walkers, although cyclists should know that on hot days it becomes quite busy so it won’t be suitable for high speed cycling. Along the way there are several public toilets, ice cream shops and cafes. However, as it is under a cliff, you can only leave the path at Brighton Marina, Ovingdean Gap, Rottingdean and Saltdean.
