Stylish, modern rooms. Stand-alone bath in the room with a view of the sea was perfect for relaxing in. Nice staff. Breakfast not included, which I think it should be for £150 a night.
- Free Wifi
We cannot praise this hotel highly enough. Friendly efficient staff, wonderful room, excellent meal both in the restaurant (dinner) and also in our room (breakfast). Treat yourself and be perfectly positioned to visit every corner of Brighton town!!
We celebrated our significant anniversary at Drakes with an overnight stay & a 3 course dinner. All was excellent. Great service. Good food. Fantastic location. Would go back.
Very modern interior inside a typical seafront building.Rooms are of high standard ,with very good bathrooms including wet rooms in some rooms.Sea views from the rooms on the front of the hotel are truly great.Great cocktails from Chris.
All staff are excellent including Richard, the manager,Julie, and Malcolm for breakfast.
Brilliant stay, our football team qualified for the play offs, and the sun shone!!
Our room was right at the top of 4 flights (no lift as its a converted townhouse), with a rolled top bath in the bedroom. Nice feature, though in reality that's because the room is so tiny as the bathroom can only over be a small wet room. It was all very clean and comfortable even though so small. The service was friendly enough too. So a decent experience. But at the price (we paid the quoted website price) frankly its a rip-off. Especially as we had to pay for breakfast on top. And an overnight parking charge of £12.50 though to be fair they have just 4 spaces out front. So one nights stay cost £250. And it just isn't the sort of hotel that should be charging that.
Had always thought about staying at this hotel when visiting Brighton, and finally it happened when we booked an overnight stay last week. The location is perfect, just along from the Pier and facing the seafront. This makes it easy to walk to either the shops in Brighton and many restaurants, or alternatively in the other direction, Kemptown and some really lovely small and quirky shops and restaurants. We booked the Ying Yang sea view room and you need to have the stamina of a mountain goat to make it up the three levels of stairs (no lift). We were OK, but if you are not very good with stairs then do ask for the location of your room. The room did look bigger on the website, but it was immaculately clean and had a stunning view of the seafront. It had a teeny tiny wet room and a bath in the main bedroom by the window. Everything is a squeeze in the room, so good that we were only staying the one night. The other thing to mention is the road noise (do emergency services need to use sirens in the middle of the night?). This is only to be expected as the room faces the road, but if you are looking for a restful night then perhaps ask for a room at the back of the hotel. However, it had everything we needed, a comfy bed with lovely bedding, and tea/coffee making facilities. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
