“2nd visit, disappointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2012

We went back to the Kings as first visit we were impressed, not the case this time. Room was a single with a double bed squeezed in. Could hardley move in the bedroom or bathroom. Disappointed for the money we paid.

Room Tip: book a superior double if staying here and not just a double

Stayed at King's Hotel with a friend in a twin room on their 4th floor. The view was horrible (a wall, rooftops & balconies) but we decided to bare with it as we were only staying 2 nights. The room was bigger than expected and very clean! Only downside, the shower was VERY loud and the walls very thin. TV worked fine except for BBC1 and had several freeview channels.

The staff were very polite and helpful-cannot fault them! The hotel is very close to the main town shops which was convinient and about 15mins slow walk to Brighton Pier. For breakfast you can have limited choice of cereals, help yourself to toast, and a hot meal. It's dissapointing that they charge £4.95 for extra courses as their portions are quite small. Tea, coffee and orange juice supplied.

Overall a generally pleasant stay. Would stay there again!

We have been staying at this hotel for many years. This was the first time I stayed with my 2 year old so I had a cot in the room and was upgraded to a superior room because of this. The room was big and plenty of extra room for clothes and room for my son to run around. Service was good in every area the only thing that would have been useful because of having a young child would have been to be able to check in when we arrived at midday but we still had to wait until 3pm but this would obviously not have been possible if this room had previously been occupied so not a major deal. It was a glorious day so we went over to the beach and you are able to leave your bags at reception. Breakfast is very nice and you have alot of choice from toast and cereals to hot breakfasts which are of a good size to keep you going until lunch. This hotel is situated at the other end of Brighton which is away from the hustle and bustle of the main area but within walking distance and also close to Hove. There is also a good bar and restaurant opposite which is on top of the beach and a large kids area close to it which is good if you have children. I would recommend this hotel to all age ranges its not huge so if you are looking for something more intimate this is ideal.

We stayed at tie hotel at the beginning of Easter. Our party was myself, my mother and my aunt (both 70 and both picky!!).
The hotel was spotlessly clean, warm and well staffed. There was always someone on reception to help if needed. The "public" areas of the bar and restaurant were well presented.

Our rooms were very clean and warm. The decor is a bit tired (paint on radiators chipped, carpets a bit worn that type of thing) but for the money paid for the accommodation it was perfectly acceptable. We chose this hotel after looking on line and to say in one with better decoration we'd have easily paid another £100 per night. So it was a no brainer for us.

The food was adequate, the location great and we'd certainly visit again.
