“Great apartment”
Reviewed 6 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

The apartment was spotlessly clean when we arrived, the beds are very comfy and the apartment is roomy and bright. Great location and great apartment. Can't recommend enough.

“Good location, good place to stay”

Firstly don't be worried that the flats are too small. Only three of them are in the house on the website, the other two are in a house two doors up. We had the private garden flat which had the entire ground floor of one of the two houses. They have been sensibly and tastefully converted although the toilet was in a strange location in ours.
If you wanted to cook a meal then the cooking facilities are adequate but there are plenty of locations to eat out (restaurant and fast-food) just up the road in Westbourne. The flat would be good for upto four and although you could get another two single beds in, mealtimes for any more than four would be a bit squashed.
Other posts have mentioned the Chines and Westbourne so I won't mention that - other than to say you are close enough to everything but far enough away for some peace.
If you want to explore but don't want to drive then there are two very frequent and competing bus services and you can get to Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch via a frequent service every five minutes. You can get a day pass for around £4.00. I must mention the open top service to Swanage which goes across the chain ferry at Sandbanks. This is more expensive at around £8.00 for the day ticket but you can get off the bus in Sandbanks and see how the other half live.
As an alternative to travelling into Bournemouth by car/bus you could try the land-train. You get it from Alun Chine beach and it takes you up as far at Bournemouth Pier but use the same £5 ticket on the other side of the pier and it takes you up as far as Boscombe and through the park at Bournemouth. Enjoy your stay. The owners Bernie and Katie live in the next street and are contactable by phone if you need them but otherwise leave you to enjoy your holiday. I hope that this information is helpful to you.

Thank you for your kind review, it was a pleasure having you to stay. Thank you also for your info about the transport, helpful for others I think! I should mention, there are actually two toilets, one in the main bathroom and one by the utility room. Apologies if we didn't point this out. Hope to see you again, kind regards Bernie and Katie.

“Another wonderful stay”
Reviewed 11 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We stayed in the private garden flat for the second time. Everything work out very well. The owners Katie & Bernie were very helpful when needed.

The flat is in a quiet street of Westbourne. Short strolls to the Alum Chine Beach and to the shops at the Highstreet. Superstores are just a few minutes away by car.

We`ll come back again!

“A spotlessly clean, good value holiday base in a quiet area - yet still handy for local restaurants & pubs.”
Reviewed 20 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

I holidayed with my husband, daughter & little 1 year old granddaughter, for one week in July 2014.

The Apartment was spacious, very clean , very tidy, had everything we needed and provided us with a great holiday base to explore some of the South Coast. That said, the weather was so good when we arrived that we didn’t go much further than Chisel Beech. Most days we meandered through the shaded Alum Chine woods to the local sandy beach (a very short stroll). If you go with children I would recommend hiring the owners beach hut. We did this for just a day as it was just a stone’s throw from the children’s play area, paddling pool and gave us a bit of shade for the baby – time just melted away. The owners Bernie & Katie, were lovely and helpful (thanks for posting my daughters jacket Katie). Both responded quickly to e-mails and were on hand if we had any questions.

If I had to pick any fault it would relate to the water tank in the back bedroom which could be noisy at times (bothered husband but not me as I've never been a light sleeper).

All-in-all a good value holiday base, located in a quiet area but close enough to local restaurants and pubs.

Hi, thank you for your kind review, glad you enjoyed your time with us. I didn't know the water tank bothered you, I'll ask the heating engineer if he do anything to make it quieter! We hope to see you again, Kind regards, Bernie
