“Pleasant stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2012

Stayed here for a night with a Groupon voucher in the week. The service was efficient and room was fine 228, a quiet room as requested. Room clean and adequate. Food and service in restaraunt good and good breakfast selection. Enjoyed using pool, jaccuzi and sauna, though pool and jacuzzi were not very warm.
Would gladly visit again depending on the price, but don't be put off by its three star status. It would be interesting to see how things run during the busier summer months.

Room Tip: Top floor.

Arriving at this hotel we had big hopes from previous reviews. A coach load of 60 OAPs arrived just before us and rightly loved this hotel. It really is geared up for the older generation. The decor in the rooms is very dated and even though the room was fairly clean the bathroom was quite grubby and the shower hit and miss. There are alot of rooms very close together in a rabbit warren design. The children were looking forward to the games room but it was an dreary empty room at the rear of the hotel with a tired ping pong table inside. We had been to a Premier Inn the evening before which was amazing compared to the Riviera. The food was very expensive in the restaurant and so we ate in the bar. The menu was very limited and very basic. The bar girl was miserable and the restaurant manager (who seemed to run everything!) made the excuss that she was on holiday the next day and couldnt wait to get away! Breakfast was good however with alot of choice. We had to ask for spoons and as the staff were mainly foreign explain ourselves slowly. Overall we wont be visiting again as a family.

I am disappointed to read about your experience at the Riviera. Clearly we did not meet your expectation – me and my team work very hard to make sure that everyone is happy and has a pleasant break. I will take your comments on board and discuss this with the tem
It saddens me that you won’t be returning back at the Riviera, nevertheless I wish you all the best

Kind Regards

My husband and I stayed at the Riviera for our Anniversary weekend. We found the sevice pleasant and efficient and the hotel clean. The indoor pool was warm and inviting. The breakfast was plentiful with a lot of choice and generally very good, (except my request for a poached egg where I received one like a rubber bullet, followed by a replacement which was virtually raw).
The room was warm and we had a good view of the sea and forest, with a small balcony. The only drawbacks were that the room was quite small, particularly the bathroom where the close proximity of the towel rail to the toilet meant that the towels were touching it. The finish was also poor.
However, genrally a good 3 * in a good location.

Our stay at this hotel was thoroughly enjoyable. The staff were excellent, very welcoming, helpful and great service in the dining room. The breakfast was superb and consisted of everything you could want. The hotel is a little way out of town but not too far. There is a swimming pool for guest use, towels are provided at reception.
From a disabled persons point of view the access at the front of the hotel was flat and level. The bar lounge and dining room are on the ground floor with no steps to the main part of the dining room, however there are a few steps down to a part of the dining room with great views and is a sun trap first thing in the morning.
Access to the bedrooms is either by stairs or lift, the lift being large enough for a wheel chair.
There is access at the rear of the hotel via a ramp and the lift. There is disabled parking at the front and rear of the hotel

Spent 4 nights at this pleasant hotel recently and had a thoroughly enjoyable break.
I booked a room with a sea view and the good fortune to be there over the Big Band Concert
weekend. My room facilities were more that satisfactory with ensuite, tea and coffee and t.v. provided and spotlesssly clean. I cannot fault the service I received from the excellent and friendly staff and their efficiency over the very busy weekend was to be commended. I found the choice of menue for both breakfast and evening meal to be to a very high standard and I had a lovely refreshing short holiday. I managed to get out and about to various venues, both close to Bournemouth and further field with my senior bus pass which was of course an added bonus. I certainly hope to return.

Room Tip: worth booking a sea view room.
