“Just Lovely!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2012

Have just returned from a five days stay at this hotel with our walking club. We holiday in Bournemouth at least once a year and have stayed at lots of different 3 star hotels, but this one is the best. Great location, extremely efficient, friendly staff. Our room (233) was lovely with everything you require, including a safe, iron/board. The bed was the most comfy we have had for a long time, lovely pillows and brilliant side lights (ideal if one person wants to sleep and the other to read) Good quality tea and coffee not the unnamed rubbish we often get. Fresh milk was given to me with a smile every day. The bathroom was perfect, walk in shower, nice white fluffy towels.
The food is delicious, everything you could want for breakfast, even danish pastries. The evening meals are fantastic. I asked the waitress one evening if the chicken was on the bone, I said if is was then I would have fish. She returned with a message from the chief, that he would take the chicken off the bone, which his did. I am so impressed!
We will certainly return

Room Tip: Ask for a walk in shower

I was with a coach party from Norfolk in March, staying at the now Days Hotel, formerly Marsham Court Hotel, for the third time. The hotel was renovated in 2011 and was very good. The room I had with a walk-in shower was very good and could not fault it as was the food in the restaurant. The hotel approached the coach company prior to our visit and asked for a list of passengers which was given. The reason for this was to work out a table plan and locate all the passengers to the tables THEY thought appropriate. This was a terrible idea as the staff at the hotel had no idea of the wishes of the passengers and who was to sit with who. I was placed at a table for 5, four members of which were total strangers to me and not very friendly as they were couples with not much time for a person on their own. The so-called entertainment was held in the restaurant, and people were required to remain at the tables. Not an ideal situation and I hated it, in fact it spoiled my holiday. I would recommend anyone booking a coach party to refrain from giving the hotel names of the passengers and allow them to chose were to sit with their friends as one would normally expect.

Dear duheltrut,
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay here with us at the Days Hotel Bournemouth.
In regards to your comment about the table situation in the restaurant, we do not ask coach companies for table plans we just do a variety of tables for 4 or 6 and allocate guests on arrival in the restaurant: however if it is a private group maybe bowls, dance or bridge we do require a table plan from the organiser as we have found that this is the easiest way to accommodate the guests who wish to sit together.
We have found that most guests like to stay in the restaurant for their entertainment as this gives every guest the chance to have a sit and table to sit by; however there is a dance floor should guests wish to dance a partake in the activities.
We do hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome you to the hotel again.
Kind regards

After our wonderful wedding at the Days Hotel last year, as promised we were offered a complimentary dinner on our 1st wedding anniversary. How lovely it was to be welcomed back to this delightful hotel and just as before all the staff were very friendly. Our meal was fabulous and even included a bottle of wine, our waiter even took the time to wish us a happy anniversary and nothing was too much trouble - even extra roast potatoes for my husband! Thank you again to everyone at the Days Hotel and we hope to be seeing you again soon!

We stayed 2 nights over the Easter bank holiday. The hotel was busy but well run so it was never a problem. The car park is too small for the hotel but it is free and on site. You may need to double park and leave your car keys with reception in case they need to move your car. Breakfast was self service. Usual stuff but absolutely fine. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Shower good with plenty of hot water. The hotel is still being refurbished so some areas are really modern but there is still floral carpet and dark woodwork in abundance. Staff all very friendly and worked hard. Overall, a decent hotel at a reasonable rate in an excellent location. Beware the hill up from the seafront if you struggle with mobility!

Dear vinrouge63,
Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel.
I am glad that you enjoyed your Easter weekend with us.
We have 90 car parking spaces within the front and back of the hotel, but when we are busy we do need to double park on certain occassions.
The hotel is still undergoing refurbishment in places and this is on a rolling scheme for the future.
We hope to be able to welcome you to the hotel in the future.
Kind regards
