Thank you for taking the trouble to post such a generous review. We are truly delighted when our guests enjoy themselves (espeically when we've had some dodgey weather in the last week or so). Your tip about room 9 being quiet is very helpful. It overlooks a courtyard at the back of the property (as does room 10) and they are both superb choices for people who are light sleepers. The garden suite is as far back as you can get and the only noise you'll hear from there is the occasional hoot of owls at night. Don't forget you can check availability and rates online and we also have a Last minute deals page on our website. (Online booking is not currently available on our m: site..... BUT we're working on that!!!)

We are just about to leave after a 1 night stay. On arrival we were greated by the happy, friendly owner, we were early but were shown to our room straight away. We were upgraded to the garden suite which was true luxury, we decided to spend evening in our room as it was too good not to use. Enjoyed sitting in the big beautiful bath and watch tv. Breakfast was fantastic, my husband had a good quality full English whilst I had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toast. Very much enjoyed our stay, would have liked to stay longer but they were fully booked. This guesthouse truely is wonderful and deserves being number 1 on trip advisor. Thanks.

The Somerville is an exceptional place to stay. We were lucky enough to have chosen this hotel by chance on a spur of the moment trip to Torquay years ago when Adam & Grant first took over.
We have been coming back year after year ever since. The guy's do an excellent job from the warm welcome to the 'nothings too much trouble' attitude they have. The location of the hotel is fabulous, just minutes from the town centre and all it's attractions, from the shops, restaurants, bars, boat trips etc. something for everyone to enjoy. If you are stuck for ideas on what to do or where to go Adam & Grant are spot on with their suggestions. We stayed in the Somerville suite this time, it's gorgeous, beautifully decorated, as are all their rooms. We can't give enough praise to the guy's and their team on the cleanliness, the delicious breakfast (so much choice) continental or cooked, the welcome, shall I go on? We were only here for 4 days this time, wish it was longer. Totally spoilt and pampered by them, can't wait to go back! Alan & Sharon Brown

We have just returned from a wonderful weekend at The Somerville. We trawled through the web for hours to find the perfect place to stay and that is when we came across The Somerville, after reading all of the glowing reviews we decided to book our long weekend here.

We arrived very late on Friday evening, not that you would think it was late because of the friendly welcome that we received from the warm and very accommodating staff.

The Somerville was just perfect, from location to comfort, from the delicious breakfast to the unique decoration and flawless service. We would thoroughly recommend this place to friends and family and will most certainly stay here again.

Thank you so much for such an enjoyable stay.

Mr & Mrs Hayward

p.s. We stayed in the Garden Suite and highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Definitely recommend the Garden Suite.
