My boyfriend and I were in Torquay for one night in August. We were in town to see Van Morrison play and chose the Avron, based on the reviews we read here on Trip Advisor! We were not disappointed with our choice!

Peter and Susan were wonderful hosts. Our room was extremely clean and well appointed. The whole house appears to have been completely renovated and is very charming. We also enjoyed the breakfast and wished we could have stayed another day or two to explore this community.

The B & B is in a lovely residential neighborhood and approx. a ten minute walk from the harbour, downhill. We chose to take a taxi back up to the Avron after the concert but it is a walkable distance if you're ok with the hill.

The Avron is a lovely property - we would certainly stay there again and recommend it!

Having not stayed in Torquay before, family had recommended this B+B to us for our 2 night stay. We were 3 adults and a toddler and had booked two rooms at Avron House. We booked over the telephone and were then sent directions that were easy to follow .We were thrilled to find the location only a 10 minute walk from the main promanade. We arrived earlier than planned and on arrival we were given refreshments by Susan who made us feel very much at home. The building is a large Victorian house that has been renovated to a high standard. The rooms were immaculate and comfortable. They provided us with a travel cot and high chair for our 20 month son, and catered for all his needs which was so unexpected and very much appreciated.Peter and Susan served a large breafast in their beautiful dining room. All our needs were catered for and their customer service was first class. We just wished we could have stayed for longer but will be returning next year!

Stayed at the Avron for three nights with my mum and two children (6 and 3). Rooms were absolutely spotless (I was in the family room which had a great layout, Mum had lovely single with brand new en-suite).

Peter and Susan were very welcoming and friendly. I'm not sure storytime and hide and seek are services always available but my children seemed to manage them!

Breakfasts were lovely - lots to choose from and wonderfully fresh.

I would stay at the Avron again and wish Peter and Susan well in their B&B adventure - they deserve it.

We stayed at this lovely hotel for a weekend recently. It is beautifully run by Peter and Susan who went out of their way to make us feel welcome and relaxed. Their knowledge of the Torquay was excellent and they gave us lots of great advice about the area. The rooms were spotless and the breakfast was superb. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

Just come back from a stay at the Avron Hotel in Torquay which I chose after reading a couple of positive reviews on the Tripadvisor website. The hotel - a large Victorian house located near Torquay United football ground - is every bit as good as previous reviewers have claimed. Nicely decorated rooms with good facilities; everything spotlessly clean; friendly and thoughtful service from the hosts, Susan and Peter; excellent breakfasts which left us full up all day!!

Give it a try - you'll like it. We will certainly be going back (provided we can get in, of course!!).
