Stayed here for the second time.
The reviews are true and we wouldn't stay anywhere else in Torquay!
The rooms are immaculate and the breakfast is to die for.
Car park is a little tight, but fine for a Focus / Golf size car and they'll even help you park!

We are returners to this wonderful place and it almost feels like home from home. We stayed again in the sea view suite with brilliant views from the sitting room. The suite is spacious, comfortable and clean - there is even a small fridge with fresh milk and chilled water daily.

Breakfast is a wonderful treat - either a lite bite or a more hearty affair for the hungry tums - hot or cold. They are equally delicious. The ambience of the hotel is tranquil. It is uncluttered with a sense of calm - perfect to unwind and chill. The hotel is a great base to discover Devon.

Terri and Bernard are super and nothing is too much trouble. They are friendly, courteous and accommodating - do contact them direct if you have any queries.

Many thanks Rachel! You know we always thoroughly enjoy having you both - and, indeed, it feels a real tradition has started with having you here for the New Year. Thanks so much for taking the time to share what it is about our place that has you returning each year. Wishing you again all the best for 2016.

Looking for a "boutique" style hotel in which to stay with some clients we found the Ascot House Hotel and booked 5 "suites" on a Saturday night. The warm welcome started before I'd even left my car, greeted by first name and helped into a parking spot (steep drive here so take your smaller car if you have a choice) which made a great first impression. Personally shown up to the suite and shown around before being left to enjoy this gorgeous space. I was given the top floor Sea View Suite from which you could see Torbay, a wonderful room comprising "lounge" area with comfy sofa, flat screen TV and DVD, spacious bathroom and welcoming bedroom. Tastfully decorated, filled with lovely furniture, spacious enough for at least 4...i could have stayed there all night but a dinner dance awaited. One of the most comfortable beds I've slept in made for a restful night too. Indulging in a freshly cooked and quality breakfast gave for the chance to enjoy the company of our host Terri who was lovely company and incredibly attentive, clearly caring that we had the most comfortable stay at the Ascot House. The biggest surprise was the cost, i've paid more for a Premier Inn room and to get all this for similar money is value beyond belief. If I ever needed to stay for a personal trip i'd choose this hotel and you get 6 out of 5 stars from me if the trip advisor rating button would work!

Had a fabulous stay in October half term. Very spacious room for the 4 of us with a large bathroom and separate bedroom. Excellent hospitality. Will have to go back for another relaxing stay sometime.

It's great to hear you all enjoyed your half-term break with us! Our set-up of Suites with and a full lounge with a sofa-bed for the kids and the separate bedroom for the parents proves very popular indeed with families. Please do come visit again!

Like other reviewers we chose Ascot House after reading the Trip Advisor reviews and we were not disappointed.

We spent 3 days there and would have loved to stay longer but they were fully booked at the weekend.Everything was just right, starting with the very warm welcome by Terri who immediately made us feel at home. We enjoyed all the special touches that make Ascot House different. We loved the very comfortable bed and the platter of delicious fresh fruit at breakfast.

We left our car in the car park and used the convenient buses to get around.

In short, warm American hospitality on “the English Riviera.” and a place to return to.

Thank you so much for your flattering review of Ascot House Hotel. Very much appreciated. I note your comment about American hospitality and, currently being in Southern California (Terri's homeland), I have to say that it is excellent indeed. Hence my 'flattering' comment about your review since it is something challenging to live up to. Thank you very much indeed.
