It's quite tricky to book a table here as the restaurant only opens its doors at 7pm Wed to Sun, so I phoned and left a message. Lo and behold they phoned me back later that afternoon to confirm my booking - what a welcome surprise!

On arrival at this first floor restaurant we were offered home made bread (more of a loaf than a roll) with Herby butter and some olives. My top tip is to not eat all the bread, as we did, having ordered a starter as the main courses all come with 3 types of potatoes and vegetables. I didn't see anyone finish their dinner meaning much food was wasted, which is such a shame.

The food itself is utterly delicious, the fish all being what's come out of the sea in the last 24 hours. The prices are not unreasonable, akin to other fish restaurants, and very good value if you have a monster appetite......maybe we shoukdchave run a marathon first, or taken our teenagers, they would have helped polish everything off!

We arrived at the restaurant at 8pm it was very busy we were told that our table would be ready shortly and given a menu to browse at the bar,
At no time did anyone ask us if we wanted anything to drink. After being shown to our table we were then completely ignored until around 830 when a waiter brought some bread and olives to the table the bread I must say was delicious probably the highlight of the night.
We eventually got to order but five minutes later we were informed that both our selections for main course were off the menu and the wine we had selected was no longer available. I understand that this is a fresh fish restaurant and the menu choices change during the evening but it would be helpful if they let you know what's on the menu when you are ordering not afterwards.
One final gripe I had to ask 3 times for some water for the table most places provide this automatically.
Afterwards the service was much better and the waitress was very attentive asking us if everything was all right on a regular basis.
On the whole we enjoyed the food ( although I don't understand why 3 different types of potatoes with the meal) and would have enjoyed the evening much more if it had started in the same vein as it finished.
I think with a few tweaks this restaurant could be much better

Confusingly also called the Lobster Pot, this a gem of a small restaurant. Has a family feel to it and everything about the food is perfect. They serve what is brought in on the day boats so turn up and see what is on offer. The waitress is excellent and very knowledge. Shame more restaurants in tourist hot spots aren't like this. Yum!

We called in on the off-chance of getting a table at short notice. Although it was quite busy we were made very welcome and had an excellent table near the window overlooking the harbour. The fish was fresh and the servings generous without being overwhelming. Most importantly, the service was exactly what it should be with knowledgeable staff paying close attention to the customers' requirements.
