“Cosy, well equipped cottage in fabulous location”
Reviewed 24 November 2015 for a stay in November 2015

We stayed in the Lodge for four nights with our labrador. The cottage is extremely well equipped and appointed, spacious yet cosy and ideally located for the beaches of south Devon. The information file is thoughtfully put together and contains a huge range of information and suggestions for walks, days out, pubs & restaurants and the all-important tide table. We had a wonderful time exploring the National Trust coastal paths and sampling local pub fayre. Katherine provided a warm welcome and all communications were efficient, timely and helpful. We look forward to returning!

“Best family holiday ever”
Reviewed 2 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Just returned from a "special" family holiday in corner cottage.Everything you could wish for-and more ! An ideal place to take children ,with a beach close by and very safe. Very little traffic and although you seem to be in the middle of nowhere you're only a couple of miles from Noss Mayo with a superb pub (The Ship) and Newton Ferrers again with a pub ,both villages worth a visit (Especially if the kids like "crabbing).Plymouth is only a couple of miles away and a few small towns within a few miles for all your shopping.
Would highly recommend, and no problem is too much bother to all our hosts.

“Fantastic holiday home!”
Reviewed 24 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Stayed in Corner Cottage for 2. weeks which went far too quickly. Everything you could possibly need is supplied and more! Our older two grand daughters loved having their own gate into the field where they could play on Alice the tractor and all the wooden play things. They also loved the bunk beds ( so beautifully carved) and sleeping above and below! There is plenty of room for everyone to have their own space and with a 4 month old baby this was particularly good. There is a cupboard full of toys, another with DVD's and a lovely garden to play in for the children. We loved watching the swallows in and out of their nests all day.. The living area is vast as is the kitchen which has so much crockery to choose from! The showers were good and water always hot. All in all a lovely place to stay and one we didn't want to leave. Hope we can come back soon!. Thanks to all at Carswell

“Always Wonderful!”
Reviewed 4 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We have stayed at various properties at Carswell and have never been disappointed. The most recent stay was at Shepherd's Cottage. This was our first stay at the cottage and as always for Carswell, the property was spotless and decorated and furnished superbly.

As the weather was sublime we took advantage of the wonderful garden and sun loungers to soak up the rays. (We had a challenging journey down from London the previous day as it was the start of the Glastonbury festival). However a few hours recharging our batteries and we were able to take advantage of the excellent local restaurants. However if you wish to dine in, the kitchen is extremely well equipped and there is a large fridge/freezer to stock up on the excellent local produce (Riverford Farm Shop is a short drive away).

Katherine and her team are extraordinarily helpful and it is a real pleasure to stay at these wonderful properties.

“Absolutely lovely stay at Crofter's Cottage”
Reviewed 27 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

We spent a wonderful Fri-Mon at the Crofter's Cottage this month. My husband and I just loved the beautiful, clean, and well-appointed cottage, and especially the incredible location and views of the South Devon coast (from the cottage). The downstairs area with the kitchen and living area was very large for 2 people. We enjoyed the wood stove in the evenings (though the damper was a little finicky), and we cooked every day. The stove in the kitchen was working at a really high setting (the main burner), which we didn't realize until late in our stay, and the cooking pans are well-loved, but we made do. We had gotten the breakfast and the barbeque baskets, and I highly recommend them. We basically had only 1 meal out (at a pub on Dartmoor) and 1 dinner that we supplemented with pasta & olive oil from the Riverford Farm shop in Yealmpton (awesome place by the way). The main bed is HUGE and comfortable. The tub is nice, though it was difficult not to have a shower (an attachment would be nice). The toilet & wash basin area is small but adequate. I loved all the different ways to let light in and get the amazing views of the country side from the cabin (rolling hills to the sea; sheep everywhere, awesome rocky cliffs and the South Devon coastal trail that goes for miles in each direction). We hope to return someday, as this was a perfect, rustic, peaceful getaway in a beautiful area of the UK.

Thank you for your lovely comments and I am pleased you enjoyed the rustic quirkiness of Crofters Cottage! I didn't realise that the cooker was not operating to temperature, so I will certainly have a look at that and get it mended. I very much hope we can welcome you back soon.
