Description: Our bistrot is housed within Royal William Yard, considered to be one of the most important groups of historic military buildings in Britain. It was built by the Royal Navy between 1825 and 1835 and provided the Navy, at home and sea, with food and drink. Bistrot Pierre’s ‘raison d’être’ is great value French cooking and seasonal menus. We like to combine French bistrot classics such as steak-frites, boeuf bourguignon and tarte au citron with our own take on regional favourites like tarte flambée, Bouillabaisse and paté de campagne. Our relaxed and friendly bistrot is the place to go for any occasion. Open seven days a week serving lunch and dinner and breakfast at weekend we have something for everyone, from the two-course prix-fixe lunch for £10.95 and a two-course pre-theatre menu for £14.95 to the sumptuous a la carte menu, and for those with little time we now also offer a one-course lunch menu for just £9.50. Wander through our distinctive French wine list too, with over 20 French wines sold by the glass you will discover something exquisite to drink with your meal. For something a little special we also host a range of events at the bistrot. Join us on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month for our Soireé Gastronomique, a six-course set menu with hearty provincial cooking. This is outstanding value priced at £22.95 per person. In addition, we also offer a special Dine with Wine evening where each course comes with a glass of specially chosen wine. This takes place on the first and third Wednesday of every month, so join us for a delicious two or three course set dinner menu for £22.95/£27.95 per person. We want to make sure there is something for everyone on our menus, whatever your dietary requirements. That’s why you’ll find plenty of delicious gluten-free dishes as well as a child-friendly menu on offer to help make your experience in our restaurant as easy and enjoyable as possible. If you love what we do and are looking for the perfect present, give the gift of French dining and order our gift vouchers online.

Visited for lunch with friends. This Restaurant always has a pleasant, welcoming ambience. Food was excellent and very good value considering it was part of the 2 course lunch deal. There was a good choice of starters and the whitebait was particularly good.
Two of us had the steak for main course which was delicious and perfectly cooked. Our friends chose the braised beef which was also very good and included generous portions of veg.
The desserts looked very tempting but that was a step too far for us!
Our only complaints concerning service were minor but is the reason for only giving a 4 star review.
Firstly no one offered to take our coats which at this time of year would be helpful. Secondly there was no bread available - apparently it was in the oven and not yet ready! ( inexcusable during a busy lunch time). Thirdly the wine we ordered was put on the table, top unscrewed and left! No offer to taste or serve!
With better attention to these points our visit would have been a 5 star experience!

Good Morning.
firstly thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback as all our customers feedback means a lot to us, as we take it all on board.

secondly I'm very happy that you enjoyed your meal with us and the food was cooked to how you liked it.

I do apologise for how you felt about the minor errors which caused a dent into the service...I will be speaking to staff members about how to greet all customers when coming in as well as how we serve our wine as it has always been to take the bottle over check its the correct order, offer a tasting then proceed to pour around the table so for this I do apologise and I will be speaking to all staff members on the correct procedures we follow, as well as the kitchen to make sure we always have bread ready for our customers.

we look forward to seeing you again soon.
warms regards
Pascale

The quality of the food was ok, nothing that will stay in my mind though. Service was not very good as it seemed rushed and not very professional. First time there though, will be back and see if it was just a bad day.

Today's lunch was outstanding and wonderful value. As usual, hardly an empty chair. Heart warming to be greeted as old friends by Ffemi & Lizee. Every wine is good; best Viognier ever. We took the special Gambas, pink duck breast with cherries, fish cake, mushroom brioche (so scrummy!) and the crepes for pud. Some of this sounds ordinary but the consistency and detail needed to produce mouth watering tastes, under heavy pressure, day after day, is admirable. Perhaps two other Plymouth restaurants can match this cooking but not at this price. I look forward to my birthday treat here soon and New Year's Eve.

We had the pre-evening set options and really enjoyed the food and overall great value and quality for two couples with drinks. A wide range of choice and a nice busy atmosphere made it a great evening overall.
