I stopped over night after arriving in Plymouth after sailing around France as i was to tired to travel another hour and a half home after been at sea so long i just wanted to get in a nice hot shower and a comfy bed , well i was not disappointed the owner made me feel very welcome , she even collected me from the Port , i had a lovely comfortable night in a very spacious room and a bed to die for ! The next day i was made a lovely cooked breakfast and then the lady called me a taxi to take me to the train station .. I had recharged my battries and was most grateful for the kindness of the owner . I think it would be a lovely place to stay for a break away !

Was welcomed wholeheartedly by the loveliest host Jan, despite my booking at short notice and arriving bedraggled and windswept. Very peaceful room atmosphere and lovely breakfast. Nothing seemed like too much trouble for Jan and it felt like a home away from home. I got the last room available and it might not have been the best in the house, but it was perfectly adequate, clean and comfy, and at a bargain price for the great location. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed for two nights over the jubilee bank holiday, we had a family wedding in Plymouth and wanted somewhere near the sea but with a bit to do within a short distance. The Rusty Anchor is in a perfect location, there are a couple of restaurants and pubs very close, and its only a short distance to the barbican if you want something more. Thevrust anchor is very reasonably priced and nothing is too much trouble for Jan , she is a great host, even offering to take a family picture of us before we went off to the wedding :-). The room was clean and comfortable, everything was as it said it would be. Free wifi was also very useful. Breakfast was lovely and Jans homemade bread was very popular with us (thanks for the recipe Jan, we tried our first batch yesterday , pictures to follow). We will definitely be staying again next time we are in Plymouth, this was the most warm welcome we've ever had in a b&b and it's not often that you're made to feel just like one of the family! Thanks again, Paul & Lucy x

Finding a hotel that would accept us and our 4 cats when we arrived in Plymouth after a long journey, was not easy. However, this was no issue with Jan, who accepted us with a welcoming heart, even when we arrived late in the evening after check-in closing time. The room was clean and comfortable, and a lovely cooked breakfast awaited us in the morning along with another friendly greeting. Excellently located on the Hoe, with the promenade on its doorstep, we would recommend this hotel to anyone, especially those needing to take their extended feline family with them. Thank you, Jan!
