Fabulous location just a few minutes from the Hoe and the town centre. Parking available for ten cars so get there early to ensure you get a space. There are lots of stairs if you at the top floor and corridors are narrow for baggage. Our room was classed as compact and it was small but manageable. The bathroom was cramped and difficult to move around. We did not eat or drink at the hotel so cannot comment on these items

Room Tip: Get a lower floor to avoid the stairs

Thank you for your review, I am sorry to hear that you found our shower room a little tight for your comfort. If you stay again, please call the hotel for best room rates for a room with a larger bathroom as we really do like our guests to be comfortable during their stay. Also check out our food as we get many positive reviews for all food served both at breakfast and dinner.

The Invicta is a well run and friendly hotel that provides really good food and attentive service. There is much to like about it and the owners and there staff do there best to make sure that you enjoy your stay.
It is a genuine place that does what it claims it will do. They are starting a updating programme which will strengthen its position it its market. The downside is that it is spread over 3 levels with the uppermost staircase being tight and windy and it does not have a lift. So if you are going to have heavy luggage try to avoid the third floor.
If you choose to got here you will be going to a genuine hotel that will do its best for you.

Thank you for your review. We have 23 rooms and yes some are on higher floors which is reflect in the price. If guests are allocated a room on a higher floor, we can arrange for luggage to be taken upstairs by our porter. We are currently refurbishing all rooms on the 1st floor, which we hope will be finished before Spring 2019. If you visit Plymouth again and would like to stay at our hotel again, please call the hotel direct for best room rates.

Everything about the Invicta is first rate. The evening meal is delicious and the breakfast menu is extensive. The bed was very comfortable and was made up with quality bedding. The carpet was spotless. The position of the hotel is ideal for the both the ocean and the town centre.

The owners and staff were very friendly and accommodating. My single room was one that had been recently refurbished and was clean and comfortable with a new bathroom. I understand that other rooms are about to be updated. I had a view to the front which overlooked The Hoe. Breakfast and evening meals were excellent and service was also very good. There is no lift and some of the rooms are on the third floor. Wifi signal strength was good. I was very happy with my short stay but, based on the views of others, I would recommend asking for a renovated room.

Situated behind the Hoe, this is an hotel with history. It was converted from two merchant's houses and consequently has many stairs and no lift. That's the bad news!
It is family run and the service is very friendly and efficient.
The food is very good. There is a wide choice for breakfast which is freshly cooked. The bread for toast was delicious.
Our group of nine had dinner in their function room which lacked ambience but the food made up for it.
Although there was a limited choice of menu we all found plenty to like. As at breakfast the food was fresh and flavoursome with plenty of fresh vegetables.
It is very convenient for the Barbican and of course the Hoe.
