“Nice Stay - great views”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2012

The hotel is in a great position for a short walk to the harbour and the many restaurants located there. The hotel overlooks the cliffs and war memorial for a great walk. The hotel itself provides everything you need and the staff are very friendly. There are some things that could do with an update (like tv's and some decor) but overall a very good stay.

I use this hotel brand with work and decided to use loyalty points for a 2 night stay at the end of July. My wife and I used the hotel as a base to visit Devon and Cornwall by train. Check in was quick and efficient and we were given a 10th floor sea view room which we had not expected, it made the trip. The bar staff were very helpful and we also ordered room service that was delivered by a very charming lady. Would recommend this hotel.

We decided on the Holiday Inn Plymouth for it's location, and it was just perfect. Accessible to town so we could go out and eat but with a sea view!
The rooms were very spacious for a family with 2 double beds and breakfast was lovely with the view of the sea and Plymouth Hoe from the top floor restaurant just added to the experience.
We even had time for a quick swim in the pool which I have to say is a great facility for the hotel to have, and such a perk when you are away from home with the family.

Room Tip: Executive rooms were nice with the sea view.

This is a lovely hotel in a fabulous location. The views across Plymouth Sound from the penthouse bar and some of the rooms is stunning. The rooms are good, and the staff are very friendly. A short walk takes you to Plmouth Hoe and Barbican. Often forgotten on the stampede to Devon and Cornwall , but a little gem

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view

Even though we stayed in an upgraded room it was quite tired looking. The air con was so noisy and not even sure if it was cooling. Had to turn it off at night time and the room was like an oven as the windows were locked shut for safety reasons being in the tenth floor. Only coffee samples in the hotel were de-caff.
On the plus side if u have chance do try out the leisure complex, beautiful pool/sauna etc. Also the sun bathing terrace is beautiful.
Fantastic views from the restaurant/breakfast room, food of a good value and standard. No charge for under ground car parking.
