“Lovely peaceful cottage”

Our second stay at this lovely cottage - peaceful spot but just a very short walk from the town and seafront (which is very popular with surfers at the weekends!). Cottage clean + had everything we needed - including Wi-Fi (not essential for us but useful for daytrip info etc) Lots of walks from our doorstep - including a steep walk up to Lynton (worth it for the views of the Valley of the Rocks) or along the refreshing river to the National Trust teashop (cream teas delicious!) ... or along the Countisbury cliffs (great views)!! Would definitely recommend this cottage - with a note to say you need to park on the road/in carpark opposite and walk up a short steep slope to get to the property - something to bear in mind when packing!!

“Super Cottage”
Reviewed 26 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Fishermans Rest is a super holiday cottage. It is exceptionally well equipped and clean. It has everything needed for a home from home rental. The rooms are surprisingly large for a fishermans cottage, just be careful on the low door frames on a couple of the rooms if you are tall. There is not a lot of outside space but plenty for a table, chairs and bar b q. It is in a great location, just a short walk to the village centre, harbour, shops and walks. It is up quite a slope from the main footpath and there is no car parking. This was not a problem for us at all, we bought a weekly ticket from the Pitch and Put hut for £20. This enabled parking at most car parks in the area so is good value. The nearest car park to the cottage is not far away and there is road parking too, just watch the times of this. Overnight from 6 p.m.until 10 o clock in the morning. Lynmouth is a wonderful place to visit. We have been going often for over 20 years

“Perfect cottage, perfect location, perfect weekend:)”
Reviewed 18 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

The cottage was a real treat, clean and bright and tucked away in a pretty peaceful lane.
The housekeepers had even left a packet of biscuits:)
Booking with owner Paul was an easy friendly experience.
The location was perfect for our walks and close to the pubs for evening meals.
We will definitely stay again.

“Great little cottage, clean, well equipped and cosy”
Reviewed 7 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

Lovely property in a great little town. Accommodation was well equipped with all new appliances. Inclusive heating and a nice log fire. Spent two days walking, one to Watersmeet and beyond !, the other to the Valley of the Rocks.

“Nice cottage in a lovely town”
Reviewed 6 October 2014 for a stay in July 2014

The cottage is lovely - but be warned, you park your car on the street / local car park across the road, then have to lug all your possessions up a steep slope / along a short pebble path to the property! However, the location is peaceful and the cottage itself was very clean and had everything we needed - except for a mobile signal (and wifi)! The smell from the oil heating is a bit overpowering when you first get up in the morning/enter the property after a day out - but opening the front door for a few minutes solved this. Also, the stairs are quite narrow/steep - but this is to be expected in an old cottage like this - just take extra care! Lynmouth itself is a lovely little town and we enjoyed lots of walks from the cottage/town to Lynton / The Valley of the Rocks, along the river to Watersmeet and Countisbury / cliffs etc. Would happily recommend this property to a friend / stay here again ourselves.
