Quiet coastal hotel set back off the main road in Stoke Fleming. Very friendly, welcoming hotel at all hours. Close to the coast path, beaches and the historic port of Dartmouth. Table d'hote restaurant only does have sufficient range in the menu and expansive breakfast bar sets you fair for a full days walking. Large rooms, comfortable beds and ease of access with ample parking in such a busy area.

Stoke lodge is in a great location near Dartmouth (short journey on number 3 bus). I used the outdoor pool early evening and following morning and it is the highlight of the hotel. The breakfast included in the price was good. Couldn't fault the full English. Cereal and fruit selection good but some of the fruit was canned, for overall price I didn't mind. The drawback is the hotel is dated, I didn't have a problem with this and it was very clean. Also some squeaky floorboards on hallways can be heard in the room, though not much traffic during sleeping hours. Excellent Blackpool sands beach close by, though 10 min walk not good for very young children.

Reasonably-priced pleasant place to stay. Friendly staff, good location near a beach and Dartmouth town centre- a lovely place to have a holiday- parking good, tennis court, two pools, indoor and out, sauna, Jacuzzi, snooker table, table tennis and large outdoor chess board. The food was lovely, there is a bar with indoor and outdoor seating areas with nice views of the sea. A short walk from a nice pub, The Green Dragon, which serves good food (book a table before hand). We go most years- highly recommended!

Room tip: Front rooms have a nice sea view.

The room was average and that is really about all I can be positive about, the food was canteen style bland undercooked minimalistic and rushed, the swearing coming from the kitchen wasn't pleasant, the waiting staff looked like they didn't want to be there and so the whole eating experience was a very miserable one. The atmosphere within the hotel was cold and un-inviting I couldn't wait to return to the sanctuary of my room, thank heavens I was only staying one night and that wasn't a peaceful one! as it was not my alarm clock that awoke me but the sound of bottles crashing together, as staff emptied the bar bins at first light ....Never staying again and will not be recommending that anyone else wastes their time and money, there are plenty of lovely places to stay in Devon, this one gets a miss.

Spent one night here recently and had a sea view room. The hotel was very peaceful and friendly. Close to Dartmouth and Blackpool sands. The dinner was superb and we have booked for two nights in September. Looking forward to returning.

Room tip: Front facing sea view.
