We read about the Seahorse in The Times and as we were going to Dartmouth booked to go at lunchtime to have the locals menu for £20.00.
Well that was the best £20 a head we have spent for ages!
The food was very tasty and inventive. The service was very petsonable and it is so good to engage with members of staff who truly appear to like their work and are fans of their employer!
One would be foolish not to book a visit to the Seahorse if you were visiting Dartmouth.

The Seahorse embraces every aspect of a fine restaurant – superb food, exemplary customer service and the perfect ambience to contribute to a most memorable evening. The staff at every level made us feel very valued customers and clearly had a detailed knowledge of their menu. The food was prepared with care and attention to detail, was beautifully presented and tasted absolutely delicious. This is a restaurant which comes highly recommended and certainly lives up to every expectation.

An absolutely amazing evening, food excellent as was the service. The place was buzzing as every table booked. Know wonder at £20 for a 3 course meal plus bring your own wine!!
The staff here are an absolute delight. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

This review should be read in context of Mitch Tonks food with wine choice and service from Outlaws. I have posted an equivalent review on Outlaws at The Capital..
We have dined at Outlaws on numerous occasions and always loved the food and service. We looked forward to this special evening and after the first two courses we were wowwed. A cured red mullet dish and cuttlefish risotto were fantastic, complemented by excellent wine choices.
Unfortunately things took a major down turn from then onwards. The seabass main course was underseasoned, with flabbly not crisp skin, fried rather than braised artichokes was a real mistake and the salsa verde did nothing to improve the dish. Choice of Barolo to accompany the bass was poor - too acidic and did nothing to enhance the fish.
Dessert of yoghurt mousse was no more than a palate cleanser.
Service was disappointing - some tables were offered wine topups without request at an event where everything was prepaid - there was no consistent service to all tables. In addition coffee and service were charged as extras and our bill had incorrect items on it. At these sort of prices and standard of restaurant it should not happen.
Not sure we would attend another 'special' event at one of our favourite restaurants.

Lots of staff available and keen to please. Nice range of options on the menu - husband rated his grilled clams the best he’d had anywhere, (grilled in their shells with coral intact.) A criticism would be that there are a few too many tables in the space; our adjacent table felt too close for comfort.
Overall a very pleasant and delicious experience.
