Called in on the off chance, lovely place bit dated but a lovely atmosphere. Very clean and tidy. Was told that it had just been taken over by new people so looking forward to seeing the new place. Decided to have some thing to eat and was not disappointed. The carvery was hot and tasted lovely.

stayed for one night, checked in at bar, nice enough fella. shown room and left to settle in, room had bad damp patches above shower and also above window, windows weren't clear enough to see through as damp seals have gone in UPVC and they have a cloudy effect. room is in real need of updating, very dated attire and quilt was awful, needed binning, luckily it was a hot night and so we put it on the floor, towels had unsightly marks on them and key was really tricky to use in door, we were well disappointed after we had previously visited some 10 years ago and looked forward to the return as years ago it was great. it hasn't moved on at all. we left before breakfast as couldn't sleep as neighbouring room was making a right racket, sadly wont be returning, over priced at £100 a night as for the two previous nights had stayed in the riverside hotel in boscastle for £90 a night that was actually superb

Room Tip: go elsewhere if you want a good room until investment is made

Awful. Our room was cold & needed a good clean. The bath drain was blocked with hair (yuck). A wall panel banged with the wind. The landlord warned us about this & suggested we put something against it! The furniture, curtains & carpet were old & tired. No lift - so had to carry our bags to the farthest end of the building. The whole building smelled of beer. The dinner menu was limited & the 'specials blackboard' didn't change during our stay. Wifi was non existent in our room (although was advertised it was available). The dining room needed a good clean too. Tables needed wiping (sticky & crumbs), carpet needed vacuuming (food under tables). This place was advertised as a hotel it is more in the category of pub accommodation. We were not going to stay but we're unable to find any other accommodation in Tintagel. Whereas this place was almost empty. What does that say? Needs a good make over. Ideal position for Tourists shame about the poor standard.

We found this hotel at the top of the road from the Castle after a walk from Boscastle. Just in time for lunch! Friendly staff, delicious Rattler Cider and excellent food. We had crab and both cleared our plates.

Room Tip: Not sure about the rooms but if the lunch is anything to go by, you probably won't go far wrong. Terrific position too!

We stayed for two nights when it was very cold. Friendly hotel in need of some updating but the room was lovely and warm, hot water in abundance and very clean throughout. Very friendly staff even though not many people around. Very enjoyable.
