OK now take the view that this hotel is going to be a bit quirky. It is going to have a slight feel of faded grandeur, and not everything is perfect. But if you accept that then you will have a great time staying there. We went with another couple and really enjoyed our 3 nights there and agreed that we would return.
we ate at the restaurant twice and it was very good indeed. The selection was wide and the quality and presentation was excellent which is why we ate in twice.
So stay at this hotel and enjoy what it has to offer

We were invited by friends to visit the Camelot Castle. We went on a special three night deal of £33 a person per night for bed/breakfast We arrived in the dark and it looked very impressive. We went through the swing door to reception. We were on the 1st floor . Our room was at the front and was large, warm and it was adequately furnished, not matching furniture but that didn't bother us. The room was ensuite with what others have described as a pod. This was very clean and I found funny, it was great for us but if you were on the larger side to get in the shower may be a problem. The bed was very comfortable and clean. The room was over the main entrance and we had a bonus of having a slight sea view.

The castle hotel is an older building and the carpets, furniture may not be new, as dogs are allowed at the hotel . We enjoyed meeting the dogs ,who were made as welcome as their owners by the staff.
The main room by the magnificent stairs is well lived in, but has amazing views. The dining/breakfast room has breathtaking views over the coast and King Arthur's castle ruins. The breakfast wasn't freshly cooked, but can have tea ,coffee choice of cereals, yogurt , fruit, fruit juices. So something for all.
The bar area is pleasant and comfortable, as is the adjoining room where you can eat more casually in the evening. We found all staff pleasant and accommodating.

The Art on the walls maybe not to everyone's taste but it's a good talking point, you don't have to go to the cellar area to the artists studio, or buy the artwork.

In in all we had a good weekend for the money we paid.
I would say to anyone visiting go with an open mind, the position of the hotel is exceptional and it is what it is an older building with all its quirks, and excentricy.
